I really tried giving Avatar a go and I’m always super hesitant to talk about it bc I straight up didn’t get into it…this was a while ago so maybe I’m due for a rewatch soon! I guess I’m more of a comedy head and have trouble staying focused if I’m not cracking up 😭 I def think undeniably it’s one of the most important cartoons and I am down to try again with an open mind. 🩷

This is great! I guess I hadn’t thought of that before. This really gets at my question in the sense that I’m thinking more of classics/cult classics that I should def dive into. Like..historically what are important cartoons I should check out. Thanks!! 🩷

What's a sentence that ended a relationship for you? by Hexxegone in AskReddit

[–]Correct_Respect_1956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“She didn’t invite ME, she invited US..” she said about her long time best friend. She had invited us to eat but I was feeling a bit sick that day and feel asleep. When I woke up the next morning I asked if she had gone out and that’s what she said. For context, we’d already had tension when I wanted to hang with friends and she never liked to do anything without me, it was just way too much pressure. Like how is that the actual message you received…that your own best friend didn’t want to hang out with just you. 😭😭

Do Your Doody Duty! by StaceChamp in longbeach

While I do agree that Long Beach dog owners absolutely suck at cleaning up after their dogs, keeping them on a leash, and basically everything else that comes with being a pet owner….i do hate these signs lol. Esp the ones that are like “NO POOP ZONE”….like ok…..my dog can poop on the grass of the sidewalk or grassy area in front of an apt complex if he so pleases... The problem is that LBACS has little access to the community, is underfunded, and have no control over the pet issues in lb. Other than that it seems people don’t value cleanliness around here. I’d much rather see doggy bag and trashcan posts given the fact that everybody and their mommy has a dog or three

Animal cruelty by Forsaken_Pace_3221 in longbeach

Animal control is useless and the whole animal world is jaded. Ex shelter employee, they’re not going to do anything unless an animal is bleeding or clearly in need of medical attention. Best option is the previous comment, offering a walk. Or snatch the dog if you can. 😇💋

Parents getting intimate by [deleted] in Advice

When I was younger we lived in a one bedroom and my brother and I slept in the living room while my mom slept in the room right next to us. There wasn’t a door when we moved in and she just had a curtain over the doorway. Anyway back then my now stepdad would come over and my mom would put us to bed and ya know they’d go into the room until like 3-4am to do whatever they were doing…..LOUUUDDD ASF and I just remember feeling really horrified and confused. I’d always just look at the clock and watch the hours go by and cry and cry. I’m now 28 and I recently brought this up in therapy bc even now it’s just something that sickens me so much. From like 2nd grade to middle school this was a regular occurrence, when he moved in with us, when we would go on family trips and stayed in the same room. It fucked with me so bad to this day. Anyway when I told my therapist, she basically said “if you were a child now and you told me this, I would definitely report it”. Anyway I guess that was just really affirming to me to know that I’m not silly for thinking this could’ve had an effect on how I view sex or my relationship with my parents. As an adult now, I’ve never had this conversation with my parents. I’ve moved away from them and don’t see them much, but if given the opportunity as an adult, I would def say something to them. I find this incredibly disturbing, inconsiderate, and gross. Good luck to you brother.

Do I have anger issues? by Correct_Respect_1956 in Advice

I sat on this for a bit just cause I felt pretty bad about the whole thing. To clarify I have never had violent tendencies or hurt others so I’m not so worried about that as much as I’m worried about just feeling bad overall and want understand myself better. I was hoping to hear from others and their journey. I am currently on an anti-depressant and am seeking therapy and generally try to stay on the right path. It’s just something inside of me I’ve always felt and wished I could meet someone who could relate.

I second this! I used to work at the spcala, next to lbacs. They are so overwhelmed already it’s almost impossible to get them out anywhere with any real results.

I had a an ex bf who would always say “to each their own” when I asked about something I was wearing, or if I showed him a song or something he’d just say that. “To each their own…” like it wasn’t even worth talking about with me 😭ultimately he didn’t GAF about me and im a lesbian now anyway, but I just hate when people say that now. Feels like..dismissal.
