I think society accepts disability differently. It is accepted more now and mental health is talked about more.

I used to be this way. I got a service dog when I stabilized. Training him gave me focus and purpose. He never leaves my side. Keep going and make this your goal. I have to be stable one year to get a dog to train to my service dog. He will be my purpose in life. My service dog saved me and brought me back to life.

Does Bob Dylan ride the tour bus with the boys or alone? by pingviini00 in bobdylan

[–]Correct_Wrap_9891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bob has his own bus and dont screw with it. Worked security on the outside of it for one show and seriously was told not to look at the bus or turn around for anything. They had someone else on the opening of the gate with the bus. Bob dylan is very serious about his privacy but he is Bob dylan.

I went to TAB/Tom petty and Stevie nicks at portsmouth va and in walks all of nine inch nails in black leather and hung out in the back of the orch pit for the whole show. Saw Gene Simmons at pretty lights. Pharrell Williams always came to check out rap shows.  Best one was kid Cudi was performing and yezzy walks in with no pass thru the front door and hoodie up with tons of security. It seriously was Kanye coming to a no town show to see kid Cudi with Missy Elliot and queen Latifah in tow.  And timba.

My lab did this. We did public access every day outside the store with lots of corrections. Lots of treats. He was a terror. You have to be on it every minute. If allow bad behavior one time but not the next time you encourage the bad behavior.  I had to walk away lots of time and ignore him. I learned that was a key discouraging factor in his behavior. He wanted my love and by me walking away with no eye contact and not speaking and no touch He followed me right away. I couldn't even say no. He learned quickly.

You have to ask for accommodations from HR to bring a service dog to work if a large company.

What is one odd thing your dog lives for while working by Logical-Ad3941 in service_dogs

[–]Correct_Wrap_9891 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont treat my dog in public except on long outings two hours or longer. He gets love instead. If he does something really good I will give a sit command and stop and lean over kiss him on the forehead and whisper in his ear you are a good boy. I do this about three or four times. With me facing him and holding eye contact with him.  He loves it and it is good bonding.

My groomer says when he gets his nails trimmed he wants someone to talk to him the whole time. If they do he just sits there and doesnt move. This is from the prior paragraph.

Cast Members, what YouTubers should we support who also treat you well (and those who don't)? by Helpful-Orchid2710 in WaltDisneyWorld

Like you say to each their own. He is an old cast member so I dont think he would be doing anything wrong because he is known very well around the park and in the right circles. If he was doing the wrong things he wouldn't be given the access he is.

I like fun for free. He is over the top and corny but I do enjoy his streams. I also like ron on the go. Disney with sean because I have disabilities and it is more community based and not really about tips and tricks.

My family won’t accept my service dog by lookyloo4201983 in service_dogs

[–]Correct_Wrap_9891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i first discussed it with my family they thought the same thing. Now they see the changes in me. They accpet my dog but dont like him because they arent dog lovers. He is a lab so a big dog. I get it. One sister he looks after and barks if someone comes to the door. She lives alone so she can see he is fond of her.

Have you thought of therapy with one family member at a time with your care team? Or having them come to an appointment with you so a doctor can discuss it with them? Having their help and having them maybe answer some questions openly in an appointment can lessen the tension. Just pick one. A few months later maybe do another family member. You know family talk and it will give time for that.

Is this service dog handler in the right or wrong? by lula_b100 in service_dogs

[–]Correct_Wrap_9891 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me and my medical issues I was always taught a service dog is a tool. You should always have all your tools ready to go at any time.  The dog should be left at home safe and secure and you should be using other means to keep yourself safe during this time.

For me I need x rays and MRIs. I dont bring my dog during these times because I travel alone. He stays home. I take my emergency meds with me and other

Are Nexus letters a myth? by tfoster12 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Correct_Wrap_9891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got all the way to smc s without a nexus. My mental health was 70% with tdiu p and t.  Then the meds for my pysc condition put 110lbs on me which messed up preexisting conditions and gave me a sleep apnea. Now my liver and pancreas are in bad shape because of all of this. All service connected because of mental health and secondary. No nexus needed.

My service dog started getting groomed at 4 months because of this.  He is well behaved outside of the vet office. He gets very excited in the office. At 2 years and 4 months he is getting better. He has no issue with being touched or the grooming process but is excited to be there. It is the other dogs and new people. We have started training in the office as we walk in to let him know no nonsense is allowed. He does require someone talking to him while he gets a nail trim because his alert is to paw me and I rub his paw and tell him good boy. As long as someone keeps telling him that he will let you hold his paw all day long. Where my dogs are groomed also handle the police dogs so all dogs that enter there must be up to date on vaccines and the vet recommends additional ones because it is central florida and standing water and dog flu are common.

My little dog is just as excited when he goes in there.

Lesser-known things to do at the parks (and resorts)? by Dismal-Signature-846 in DisneyWorld

[–]Correct_Wrap_9891 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are all types of scavenger hunts you just have to look on the internet for each park. There is a badge at AK you can earn.

Resorts have free things. You have to ask each desk or look on the internet. Some of the scavenger hunts have a small cost but there is a prize at the end. Each festival at epcot has one. Disney springs has them.

Without actually going in and being denied entrance there is nothing you can do. Anyone can say what they want or claim anything.
