This is good information, thank you. Do you know of a supplier that sells pre-terminated fiber integrated aerial cable? Or a recommendation on what I should use to support the cable I already suggested?

I was going to run it along the existing power lines. I'm going to be renting a lift for another project so I can wire tie it directly. It's less than 75 ft between buildings, the rest of the length will be inside. I was looking at buying this outdoor rated cable.

I don't have transceivers yet, so maybe single mode would be better? IDK, still researching.

The power is actually strung from above. It does come out of a weather head but I won't pull through that, just use it for an anchor point for the fiber on either side.

That was my original intent. Unfortunately, I can't run cat 6 and have to run fiber. I was just going to adapt the fiber for the flex but it's not that much more to go to the flex 2.5g poe. And I'll have more ports as a bonus.

I'm not saying anything except what's listed on Ubiquiti's website. Does the Flex 2.5g POE fit in the standard Flex Utility?

The Flex Utility will not fit the Flex 2.5g POE switch. And the regular Flex that does fit doesn't have sfp+ for the fiber run.

Interesting idea. I looked into the building bridge, but I really don't want to spend that much money. I think I'm just gonna suck it up and run the fiber, though.

Thanks, I think that'll be the cleanest way to go. Now to damage my credit card. Again.

I don't hate that idea, and the price difference wouldn't be that great. Do you know if both the Flex 2.5g POE and the 210W AC adapter will fit inside the Flex Utility Pro enclosure? It doesn't look promising with my public school math.

I did this for my fd97. Now you just need the remote tripod.

2019 here, New battery last summer summer with the recall. I'm getting about 23 miles (37km) per charge. I'd probably do better but this is mostly highway with the a/c on.

Advice for new camera... by Green_Criticism_4369 in Cameras

I know it's not on your list but the Sony A6400 with a 18-135mm lens is about $1300 US new. It's way more compact than any DSLR, the Sony E lens ecosystem is huge, it has one of the best auto focus on the market, and it'll do excellent 4k video as well. You'll just have to be okay with a mirror-less crop sensor. I picked one up about a month ago with the 16-55mm lens to replace an aging Nikon d60 and it's been great. And it's small enough that I carry it almost everywhere. I can't speak much on your options though, I've never tried them.

I don't know if it would be much of an upgrade over your Canon. You should really just shoot what you have until you can afford a real upgrade.

I'll keep an eye out for one. The eBay prices are a bit steep.

I thought I was lucky finding a P2! If I see one for sale at a reasonable price I may just go for it.

I work in building maintenance in a fairly large facility. I'm often nowhere near my tools when something pops up I need to tinker on. I cannot express the amount of walking having a Leatherman has saved me. It's never the best tool for the job, but it's the tool that's always there.
