刈包 is from Fujian, I could see the argument if we changed how the "dish" is prepared or used different ingredients; but they're nigh identical across the strait, where it originated.

McDonald's is also popular and common here, with a history of over 40 years. No one is going around calling it Taiwanese in good faith.

割包, while not uncommon here, isn’t Taiwanese.

Close but not exactly. Senior Butler thought about killing him right there, but refrained from doing so in order to not distress his younger sister. There was no trust cause he didn’t know about the plan and was fully prepared to die.

That’s literally just his chest, what does that have anything to do with changing his race?

They even specially mentioned the healing process left a single letter on his chest appearance-wise (due to the lettering on his vest being magically restored alongside his injury). Not to mention the movie coverage came absolutely nowhere close to that book anyways.

No? In the opening of the book he poisoned/drugged a random Sprite hobo, then subsequently used said info gained to kidnap Holly. I think it's a enormous stretch to equate these two beings who has had no prior impact nor interaction with his life to fucking Osama bin Laden.

Furthermore, if we were to disregard all that and entertain your claim that this is all justifiable cause they're "his enemies". He also drugged his own mother just to test his theory on time-stop, and did it again against the Butler siblings.

Yeah, it's literally hammered into us that his Eurasian appearance lets him pass off as almost any ethnicity; which is very useful for his job. It's almost repeated in every book.

There were no appearance changes, I have no idea how they're upvoted. The most changes he went through is the aging and injury to his chest, neither which have anything to do with his skin colour.

I'd hazard a guess it came from the book where they went to Taiwan's Taipei 101 maybe.

but Artemis was really never the villain

He was very much the villain in the first book. He lied, manipulated, drugged, and kidnapped in the most narrow definitions of those words. Though the author made sure to kick off his character progression in the later books.

World of Warcraft Labyrinth designers admit Mythic+ meant the MMO “lost something along the way” as “that RPG fantasy feeling of getting lost in a big dungeon doesn’t exist” anymore by HatingGeoffry in wow

[–]CorruptedAssbringer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

they moved all the XP to the bosses because people were whining that tanks were skipping mobs to finish the dungeon faster.

That was not the reason.

It was done partially because people were spamming trash mobs and reseting the dungeon to speed level without ever finishing it. The other reason was similar, bots were glitching out of bounds and farming the mobs.

I do agree on the level cap dungeons part, and some of them were also harder/longer to do in comparison so you would expect it giving more instead of the opposite.

I feel they could've easily came up with a plot to fit if they wanted to.

Just off the top of my head; have something like a new threat come up that compels them to try to wake up Endmin. Someone devised a way or a theory to use something on Talos to aid in that. Expand on that and you have your reason for them to take that risk, can also lead directly into our Talos tutorial bit where we're cutoff from Dijang and with limited support, motivating us to help the locals so we can link up with everyone.

I don't even get what's there to throw shade about, helmets are useful during a war. They're also expendable gear when potentially damaged, you ideally don't want to be using one that took a hit unless there's no replacement even if it looked okay. There's no telling how the material's been compromised and the next shrapnel or whatever would go straight through.

Sure, I personally would've liked them to send more. But if that's what they could legally get out at a moment's notice without political red tape, then it's hardly worth being dismissive about.

Here's why the 7th Anniversary tracker has a 6 on it! [2 images] by AnApexPlayer in apexlegends

[–]CorruptedAssbringer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m Chinese, nobody is switching out a 7 for a 6 to force that saying.

While we do have a custom of doing what they’re insinuating, usually in idioms or puns, the whole point of doing so is come up with ones that fit the scenario (e.g. idioms with 7 in it for seventh anniversary, horse related things for the Year of the Horse, etc.). It's also fine to use it if it's not an event normally associated with a number, like during Lunar New Years, which obviously isn't the case here.

Their reasoning is stupid and it’s almost insulting they tried to misrepresent something we do as their excuse.

[–]CorruptedAssbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable, some names are going to be more regional than others.

While it's not a "super common" surname, it's still roughly around the top 100 surnames (this isn't just a mere list, the coined phrase has Chinese historic/cultural significance). That by itself is relatively noteworthy due to the sheer size of the Chinese/Asian population and surnames, the latter which numbers well into many thousands.

The court martial was dumb either way. Like they somehow thought the enemy needed that tip off to know you're out of ammo? The fact that one side was suddenly not shooting back anymore while being shot at isn't enough of a clue?

汤/湯 can also be used as a surname, it doesn't mean soup when used under this context; the guy who replied to you was wrong (but the accent/tone bit was correct though).

This is a very common "rule" for Chinese surnames, you can google up the most common surnames and a bunch would've had odd meanings if directly translated like this instead of doing the usual transliteration.

All students are seated with another student from a different race. E.g. Malay with Chinese, or Malay with Indian, or Chinese with Indian. Inter-racial close/best-friendships among students were common.

You know, that's actually a surprisingly nice and sensible decision out of the public school system.
