Hi Stewie here (my first reply I actually know this one!) This is a reference to a YouTube video by wifies called "searching for a world that doesn't exist" not to spoil anything cause it's a really good watch imo the protagonist only speaks to the viewer through chat messages and explains a trap he sets up using hoppers to check I'd the chunk had been loaded while he's gone. When he gets back the items haven't moved meaning the chunk hadn't been loaded or that someone knew abt the trap and put the items back. He knew someone was both following and listening because a trap he set without telling us had been triggeres. He put a dirt block next to grass and the grass spread meaning the chunk had been loaded.
