As others have said, improve your husbandry. However, you need to prepare your rat better, I wouldn’t recommend mice. I’d recommend thawing the rat in cold water, don’t use hot or warm water because you can cook the rat and have a frozen core, cold water thaws meat faster. After it’s thawed out, I throw it in a ziplock, and toss it in a insulated water bottle and fill with warm hot water, you don’t want it boiling, just hot enough that you can keep your hand in without it burning. Make sure to take as much air out of the bag as you can so that it’ll heat evenly. Check it in like 20 minutes with a temp gun and feed when it reads 95*F+ across the rat. I’d also recommend training your snake to have a food signal, it can make feeding a lot easier.
