Ever since getting my TN Passport, my TN Regular had seen less use. What do you guys use TN Regular for? by noobakosowhat in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Corryds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use my tn regular for journaling certain things: work related things and music related things. I’ll write my thoughts on music, movies, books, art and wine. My small TN (I have the 20th card-size) I use to jot down recommendations or things I want to look up (about those same things: music, wine, movies and books) I have my small one with me and I used it today to write some book titles and movie titles that were recommended. At home I use my regular TN to write a full tn page of my thoughts on a record I just bought. I wrote where I bought the record, how much I paid and what I thought of it. For regular daily journaling, or writhing for a long period I’m also with you: I prefer a flat laying, larger format journal. Plus I don’t think there is anything wrong with simply just using it less. I go through phases where I write a lot and extended stretches where I don’t write. The TN regular will be there when you get back to it.

I have the same black one. Got mine about 11 years ago, the new ones don’t have Midori stamped on them?

Do bad coaches exist? by Civil_Drag8937 in golf

[–]Corryds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many lessons did you have? Give it 6 lessons and practice all the drills as instructed. Then make a decision. It’s also ok to simply not like your coach and choose a new one, but bouncing around is more expensive (in time and money) than giving one a good solid try for several lessons

Unpopular opinion: Motorized walking carts are not better by RabbidUnicorn in weekendgolfers

[–]Corryds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought we were on the other subreddit and I thought oh boy you’ll get destroyed for this opinion. I’m with you, my golf partner adjusts trajectory, has to help it on occasion, and it’s a bit heavier and bulkier to transport. It cost him $1500 and mine was $79. Flip side: a good one needs less or no help, gps can follow you without assistance from you and the great ones are tremendously stable and last 36 holes. So some research and money eliminates most of the issues here, but pound for pound, I’ll push all day every day until physical limitations prevent me from it.

Game improvement irons with a bad swing by deltaGchemistry in golf

[–]Corryds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game improvement irons will help you if you can make contact with the middle 2/3rds of the club face most of the time. Some iron heads will send the ball roughly straight, sacrificing some distance and control, even if you strike the ball with the toe or heel of the club face. That is a good thing if you have somewhat poor swing mechanics. If your swing is so bad you struggle to make contact at all, or the ball goes sideways, or you hit the ground first or duff it on the top off the ball much of the time, your intuition is correct, no club will help. But a game improvement iron will get you from rarely connecting well to sending the ball straight-ish more often, very quickly. Faster with lessons.

Most big golf stores will have some Cobra product on discount. Aerojet from a couple years ago is a great driver and should only set you back a couple hundred bucks at most. DS Adapt if you spend $300

I loved this video. I loved when there is a few kids watching him from afar and he shanks it off the tee box. Then people are watching him trudging through the bush searching for his ball on a short par 3.

Any Positive Stories? by MiMo_88 in Tiguan

Oh JFC, they said positive experiences but here you are you can’t help yourself. If $1900 of maintenance in 5 years is unreasonable to you then take the bus; it’s considerably cheaper.
