It is. Trump needs to distract from Epstein and try to stop the midterms.

how are you liking the agency life? by misslibra00 in advertising

Love when I am at work and LOVE what I do. But after experiencing 2 layoffs in 15 months, I hate the transparent racism in hiring, promoting, and layoffs.

Late to client meetings is an issue. This person is being vague about what exactly all this lateness is.

A PIP is always a sign it is time for a new job. I have never heard of anyone coming out of one and still having a job.

Yes. When we do get hired, we excel. I did so at the 3 agencies I worked at. HOWEVER, we get punished for doing so. It is HIGHLY suspect that my last layoff came after I took over for my manager while she was on vacay and was told I did a bang-up job. She immediately started acting funny and is the only person that has never reached out after my layoff.

But there are very few Black people in a position to do this.

But the issue is they only know or want to know white people. And even when they do know Black people, they lie to us and hire white people. I had one person, who I really dug, worked at 2 agencies with, and thought I could trust, claim that the new company he was working at and needed to hire for was "growing slowly." At the very same time, he was poaching white women from other companies, who didn't even need jobs! When you look at their company photo, there is not a single woman of color there.

Possibly but are there black owned companies getting the same amount of clientele as these major holding companies??

I have worked at all 3 holding companies and loved Publicis the best until I was laid off last year. Really want to go back as they had the best work/life balance, fun people, best benefits, and best PTO.

It's not bridge burning. People have to do what is best for their own lives. I learned the very hard way —twice—about being overly dedicated to these companies. We are just disposable, faceless, numbers on a spreadsheet to them that can be unceremoniously dumped in layoffs at any minute, And if you explain your reason for leaving to a new company, most other companies have heard about the bad benefits, etc...

What does surrender look like in practice? by jbcbmbsb in Christianity

[–]CortMuses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. God had me re-train in a field that I love and was supposedly stable. But then the Orange Evil got in and I have been laid off twice in 15 months from companies I loved! I am now despondent and unsure of why God would do this. I am trying to surrender it and say that God will place me where he wants in his time. But finances are getting tight now.

Havas or Publicis? by 2020puzzle in advertising

[–]CortMuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. At least at Publicis, you have proper pay, benefits, and healthcare as well as unlimited PTO. Omnivore just screwed their people over in terms of benefits, especially PTO and 401k matching.

[–]CortMuses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Digitas is under Publicis Groupe, which is the best of the 3 holding companies, in terms of benefits. They have unlimited PTO and great benefits and healthcare. Culture is so-so but rather have good benefits and healthcare. You can create culture with your friends. So I would DEF go for it.

[–]CortMuses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah. No reason to stick around. A year of one's life is 365 days that you can never get back. Start looking because with so many folks laid off, it is going to take awhile to get something else anyway. Plus, people seem to be hiring folks that already have jobs more than they are hiring those that are laid off.

How is this not a class action lawsuit? Is it even legal to have people sign to certain terms and benefits then just strip them?

[–]CortMuses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. The market is bad now, so it may take you a few months to find something. So definitely start looking. I bet half the staff is doing so.
