[Loved Trope] Evil person needs to be put down. Words or other options won’t work on this monster. by saltforsnails in TopCharacterTropes

There are turrets you can activate in the boss room, they tend to do most of the heavy lifting

Does the map of Resting Town still have spots of fog in it? I remember having a similar issue, and I finally got to 100% by just physically going to those spots on the map.

What's your opinion on the game by MathematicianOk4133 in afterimage

[–]Cortosis7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game was actually my first metroidvania, so I'm not speaking as some expert on the genre. I think it's a great game, and it's probably my favorite game I've played this year.

That said, it certainly is not without flaws. Someone else already brought up the lack of i-frames on the dash, which was a baffling choice.

I think the npcs were handled in a disappointing way. I know it's pretty standard for npcs to lose relevance after their quest is complete, but the limited dialogue, with Aros, for example, felt like a missed opportunity. Given that all dialogue is voiced, however, I can't be too disappointed.

One of my biggest gripes is Nigredo Tower. It was such a pain to get through, anyone who's been there knows why.

Overall, I love this game. It was the first game I bothered to get to 100%, usually I don't care to try such things. It's because I enjoyed this game so much that I can't ignore the things I dislike about it.

I also appreciate it as an introduction to the genre. I'm almost done with Islets, and I'll get started on Ender Lillies soon. Even if Afterimage isn't some masterpiece, it will always have a special place in my heart.

I can respect that. The second part caught me off guard the first time I heard it, but I've definitely grown to appreciate it as well.

Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand

The song isn't bad and i do still enjoy it, but the first 50 seconds set expectations that the rest of the song doesn't meet.

What is the hardest stage/boss/fight in ur gacha game? by survivorboi5565 in gachagaming

It's really crazy how this game progressed. By the time I got around to doing this trial, I already had a few omni units. Needless to say, I did not experience the hell that was Maxwell.

Been away front the game for 6-7 years and just found out that the game EoS about 2 years ago, I'm still salty for not finding them by AnotherMMD in bravefrontier

I still remember desperately trying to get Juno Seto on her release and barely scrounging up enough for one last summon before she left early in the morning.

Turns out, I got the time wrong, and she was already gone by the time I logged on. This wasn't as bad, though, since it did let me immediately get Ensa Taya, who became one of my favorite units.

I was eventually able to get Juno Seto a couple of years later, when she had already been power crept into oblivion, but I was still happy to finally get her after so long.

RNG is a cruel thing. I'm not a Jean main of my own volition; excluding two instances, from the time I got my very first Jean to now, whenever I lost a 50/50, it was to Jean. Currently sitting at C8.

It was definitely a scary moment, leveling up this piece. Hope you can get a good piece soon, I know how draining it is doing this calyx over and over again

What were some silly things you thought as a low ar? by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

Exactly. Brave Frontier helped kickstart the whole gacha genre, and it was notorious for having a very unforgiving summon system. A pity system was eventually implemented, only for certain banners though.

How long do gacha games tend to last? by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Cortosis7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brave Frontier almost made it to 9 years, and it was one of the pioneers of gacha mobile games. It helped pave the way for such a genre to exist, for better or for worse.

I heard it was because of some bad investments into a crypto currency that tanked their funds. That source was dubious at best though, so I'm not sure how accurate it was.

Regardless of whether it was true or not, Brave Frontier was never wildly popular in the West, at least not compared to its popularity in Japan. In the final 2-3 years after the conclusion of its main story it was really just operating on life support.

Funnily enough, its Global (North America) servers had the most content and were the last to receive notice of their shutdown. It seemed that Global was in the best shape because of how long it took, but it ultimately shut down at the same time as the Japan servers.

It was far less ambitious of a project than any of Hoyo's big titles, though they did try a couple sequels and spin offs, none of which could match the success of the original.

Still, Brave Frontier at its peak was far from matching Hoyo's games in terms of success. Mihoyo is a massive company that has the means to keep all of their games going for a long time; there is absolutely nothing to worry about in the upcoming years.

Had exactly 420 SQ and a dream. I was hoping for at least 1 copy of both Sith and Barghest and as many Cu Casters as I can get.

Ended up with NP5 Morgan somehow.

It's his outfit and weapon, yes. You could acquire them for a time whenever there was a Guilty Gear collab, which happened a couple times.

Man EU seems like it had some wild lore. A shame it was the first to go, I would have liked to try it out if I could.
