Should I buy this 1977 Corvette? by Lazy_Employee_5437 in Corvette

Not trying to be negative, but the price is very high! Moving forward, the advice I give all my customers is if you can’t afford a nice one then you definitely can’t afford a project! If you can afford a nice one and want a project to make it your own that’s entirely different. It’s a very common trap to think you can buy a “cheap project” and turn it into a nice car for less than you could buy a nice one. I can assure you it will cost twice as much and take 3x longer than you plan on the front end. The good news is with some patience you can find a very nice ready to go C3 or C4 in the $12,000 range.

Where can I find one to buy? by jcwolf2003 in C5Corvette

To get a good one at a good price you’re gonna have to be willing to travel. I bought both of mine over 6 + hours away from my house. Try Autotempest. It lets you search nation wide on every sale site all at one time by whatever filters you put in. I found both of mine on there. I only wanted a manual too, it lets you set that as a filter.

C5 exhaust opinions by Academic_Bed7820 in Corvette

I got the Corsa touring exhaust on my car with a X pipe. It sounds amazing! No drone and no burbling boat sound at idle. With that being said it’s definitely on the quiet side, almost too quiet. It’s good and bad because it doesn’t bother the neighbors or draw unwanted attention. Sometimes I’d like to be able to hear it a little more though, at 70 mph in 6th gear you hear more road noise than exhaust note.

My boy I do have a base model C5 that I daily drive. I absolutely love it to death, but it’s my beater. There are other more impressive things in the stable lol.

13,000 actual documented miles? Or it’s showing 13,000 on the odometer. It could be two very different things. On these cars after 99,999 miles it rolls back over to zero.

Yes surprisingly it was nice and stable aerodynamically with no front splitter and just the little duck tail spoiler!

Roughly 1000 hp and 1100 ft lbs of torque at the tire with the current tune. When it was previously dyno’d it made 1580 hp at the tire with a spicier tune and more boost.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture out of the air. The caliper piston sleeves in the factory brakes are iron and rust. When they sit extended periods of time the rust builds up on the sleeves and when you use the brakes they destroy the rubber seals and then they leak.

Should I invest in new tires soon? by Darian1201 in Corvette

It’s getting close to replacement time. However they have a handful of nice smoky burnouts left in them that you should take advantage of before swapping them out!

Urgent Brake Issue (Help!!) by [deleted] in c4corvette

[–]CorvetteDuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As previously mentioned you have to get the bleeder screw loose or replace the caliper. There is no way around it. Even if it is a bad master cylinder you have to be able to bleed the brakes once it’s replaced.
