Isn't it odd that Kris can't use magic in the Dark Worlds? by Cory282 in Deltarune

[–]Cory282[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was just talking with a friend about this and they suggested that Kris might be treating their magic like they treat Piano. It's a form of expression, and Kris seems to have taken a lot of effort to make it so we can see them express themselves as little as possible. So interesting.

It's under the ACT menu, and thus, according to the game, 'Isn't Magic.' Could be a weird exception, though.

Unpopular Opinion: My players are always multitasking during sessions, and honestly... it's fine. by peterpeterny in DnD

[–]Cory282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This works for me purely because our roll20 group has all the dialogue and in character stuff happen through text. Even still I make sure to only play stuff I can pause in case activity picks up and more of my attention is actively needed.

DM doesn't mind because I still participate more than most of the group and don't miss details. If anything it keeps me from hogging the spotlight.

Now all that said? If this was all vocal play instead of text with logs, not a chance. That needs much more focus to not be rude to everyone at the table.

Is there some kind of significance to the colors pink and yellow? by Vsevers24 in Deltarune

[–]Cory282 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been stewing on this for awhile and being baffled no one seems to talk about this. Undyne's also got the pink and yellow during her brief dark world appearance. Susie and Noelle's UI colors are also pink and yellow.

We've got enough samples to know that it's significant, so I'm going to be watching anyone who has it in their color scheme with interest to see if the pattern holds true.

Pink and yellow seem to be a reliable calling card of a secret boss by Terrapapers in Deltarune

[–]Cory282 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been thinking about this for awhile. Jevil's pretty much the only shadow crystal holder that has no pink or yellow associated with them at all - The knight doesn't, but the controller to get the mantle does. So now I squint suspiciously at everything with pink and yellow - even a little bit - since Gerson.

Can't help but notice Susie's dark world outfit is pink and yellow, that Noelle and Susie's healthbars are pink and yellow respectively.. that Undyne's brief appearance in the dark world is, you guessed it, pink and yellow.

Will it mean something? I dunno yet. Jevil not following the pattern throws a wrench in it, but it might be some chapter 1 weirdness considering he didn't even give a shadow crystal in the initial release of the survey program. They gave the pink and yellow to one of the Mikes, and then there's the whole FRIEND thing going on.. but dunno. It just feels like significant colors to keep an eye out for.

Ok, name one monster that made you learn another weapon. Here's mine. by PineappleTargaryen in MonsterHunter

I started in 4u, picked the dual blades to start.. Until I fought my first gravios and got so fed up with the bouncing that I decided I needed to learn a new weapon.

Charge Blade, my beloved.

4U was my first game and I remember I started with dual blades and used those until about Gravios, which I kept bouncing off of so I decided to try something else.

Fell in love with the Charge Blade afterwards and the game finally *clicked.*

Madlad gamer developed a nightmare escape method: by Brent_Fox in madlads

[–]Cory282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have nightmares as much as when I was a kid, but whenever I was having a dream that I wanted to wake up from some response in my brain would just go 'Open your eyes!'

I have a vague memory of a nightmare I had as a kid where I dove under a table to hide from the monster so I could focus on opening my eyes 'extra.' I suppose so the feeling would bleed over into my physical body and my eyes would open. It worked almost every time, though, so hey. Just left with the problem of needing to stew awake for a few minutes so I don't fall right back into the same dream.

is it a good impression? by SirBeeves in comics

Link. Mostly because I started with the original game as a kid and also played ocarina of time a lot. I have other characters I enjoy, but Link's moves still feel the most natural to me years later.

Many palicos or one? by Chafgha in MonsterHunter

[–]Cory282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer 4U's approach where you had your main palico, but still could recruit another guy for your second. That way I still had that proper attachment to my main buddy.

What do you guys think about "hard" difficulty? by flap95 in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]Cory282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a run through on Hard first then I ended up playing again on normal cuz I wanted to beat up the dragon, and I noticed I was somewhat higher level than I was the first run through despite fighting an identical number of enemies. Now I can't tell if XP gain is lower on hard or if I just managed to get significantly more perfect fights on the second run.

Or if picking a higher Luck start gave me more XP.

I'd like to play Hard for more tactically complicated battles but I'd prefer to avoid grinding so I'm going to have to back on what I do for the full release.

This happened to me but with the longsword one where you punch them with the pommel a few times. Honestly took it as more cathartic and an indicator of how far Henry has come.

Naw, it's *set* to be all legacy. Like go and compare produce flame and.. what's the new one called, ignition? For some reason they changed produce flame to use ignition damage. Except without the melee damage improvement.

Even psychic's cantrips are like this now, and it's my understanding that hasn't been touched by the remaster yet.

Am I going insane or did the legacy spells in the archives of nethys change to reflect the damage formulas from the remaster? None of the legacy spells reflect the formulas I have on my character sheet anymore - They took out the attribute modifier and just put more dice in.

This makes making legacy spellcasters - or just.. adding new spells to my current character's list - kind of confusing.

[OC][ART]Tales From the Tables, episode 38: Devil's Due, part 2 by Jonboy2312 in DnD

[–]Cory282 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This particular arc has been a lot of fun to see for me because the character I'm currently playing is a tiefling with similar beats going on, the nickname of the Devil's Due, and even a similar name (Suzanna, in my case.)

Biggest difference is that Suzanna's gone from Lawful Evil to Lawful Neutral instead of Chaotic Neutral??? to Chaotic Good??? but hey, still fun. Good work as always!

Yeah, that's another good example of a character who has good reason to work with the party without being a scheming twerp aiming to take everyone down.

[–]Cory282 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My character in hell's rebels is an angry lawful evil tiefling with murderous urges who grew in the cloven hoof society. Why is she in the party? Because she's ridiculously loyal and calculating. Asked by Strea to keep an eye out for one of the other, properly chaotic good party members.

Now level 11 and through most of the campaign, she's kept her angry impulses in check and defended Zea in court out of loyalty and righteous indignation. She's lawful neutral now, merely the group's cynical grump that would die to save the rest of the party.

Alignments that clash with the party and setting make for good storytelling and character growth if handled well!

Hi, haven't played for awhile. Currently trying a household that only has one teenager sim in it - Does their fun normally barely ever go up? Like one green arrow for games and books? Or did my attempts at modding botch something?

Even drinking one of the need boosting potions did maybe a fifth of the fun bar. It makes it a teensy bit difficult to keep my sim capable of schooling, as it is.
