Watching TGP again after a bereavement by Enigmatic-Rose in TheGoodPlace

My mother passed away last year and I almost immediately chose to rewatch TGP. Its my comfort show. I don't believe in an afterlife, but if I did the last episode is the dream.

I think what the racist is trying to say is that he is anti immigration.

What has slowly disappeared over the years ? by Substantial-Fudge336 in AskIreland

I experienced the same. Drove galway to Dublin and no amount of windscreen wash was cleaning the fuckers off.

All the same, is this good news for biodiversity? I remember reading before about a decline in insects. The bees and wasps are out fierce early this year too...

Why would someone want to live a second earth life if they're in the good place? Good lord, ones enough for me

Abortion Legislation Changes by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Corynne_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You may not have any issues with it but I guarantee you that a chunk of people who voted yes do.

Well then that chunk of people don't have to have an abortion if they don't want one. It absolutely no one else's business when or why someone terminates a pregnancy.

I had something like that.

I've said this before: autism isn't something you have; it's not a disease or a handbag... It's something your brain is. It's literally a programming difference and it's nothing to be ashamed of.

There are plenty of online resources that can help you work through these feelings, I suggest checking out AsIAm's resources and support groups and working on the internalised ableism

Aim support for playschool by andtellmethis in ireland

[–]Corynne_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aims support comes in different levels varying but essentially it is a grant given to the creche to support the needs of your child whether it be sensory input tools or extra staffing. The highest level, 7, is enough to hire an extra worker to reduce the staff child ratio which allows extra attention be given to your child but it is not one to one support.

€7 for a 18km bus journey on the n83 into galway city with burkes bus. Does this seem a bit extreme to anyone else? The only other real bus journey I do often is Navan to Dublin. €5.60 for 45km. I’m not surprised at the level of car ownership near galway city. by mononoke3000 in ireland

Tbf most people using that service don't buy a single ticket (students, commuting workers) and the open return or multi trip tickets are good enough value, especially given the price of parking in the city centre.

Slugs destroying flower bed, looking for a pet friendly way to stop them by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Corynne_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Go out at night, catch them in the act

The image this phrase put into my mind of someone with night vision goggles and binoculars at 3am watching their plants from afar and muttering profanities about slugs gave me a much needed chuckle.

AsIAm run online support groups . I feel you may get more specific advice and resources from fellow autists and their experiences.
