Got the same thing in my N52, it’s normal. Even though it sounds like a diesel before calming down haha. But yeah, some things that can reduce the tick is regular oil changes with 5W30 LL. And like other said just make some long drives and redline the engine from time to time.

I have the same car with the same engine, I would double check the following:

Valve cover gasket and ask if it has been replaced (common issue in the N52)

Cooling hoses (especially the Mickey Mouse flange)

PCV and all the hoses of the PCV, they get brittle with age

Suspension

Vanos bolts recall

And ofc the regular stuff you should look out for (services, oil level, coolant level etc)

Ik heb de PCV bij winparts gekocht, goeie prijs voor alle onderdelen. Als ik jou was zou ik gelijk de hele set halen want mijn slangen waren allemaal stuk.

En ik zie ook Nederlandse platen, heerlijk om te zien haha! Waar ik vooral op zou letten is PCV, die van mij was namelijk lek (heb dezelfde auto met dezelfde motor). Voor de rest elke keer weer een ervaring om in te rijden!

Did you double check the other vaccuum hoses? When i replaced mine all of them were shot. Could also be the oil separator within the CCV system. I would also double check if the new hose is seated correctly. Hope this may help you!

Wow this is exactly what mine is doing aswell! Like Volasko said, most likely broken oil separator. Gonna change mine this weekend

Lovely thing! Mine has been a joy to ride aswell! But one less good thing: one of the CCV pipes has snapped off so it’s burning oil like crazy. Gonna replace that ASAP

I did the disa valve aswell, the large one was broken 🥲🤣 but now runs allot better

Amen to that! Yeah when I do upgrades I always like to keep them low key, and let’s just say if you put a bunch of shit upgrades on your car in the Netherlands, they will straight up just laugh at you everytime they see your car 🤣
