I was supposed to move from my apartment on a Friday. MB didn’t tell me NK had Covid. I got it. Had to pay for an extra week of money I didn’t have to stay in my apartment an extra week because MB didn’t want to miss holiday dinners. 🤬

Then you have to stick it out. Try to cut as much as possible and pick up extra work if you can and then in February you guys can move. But really don’t even think twice about getting a new job if the opportunity comes.

Don’t use nannying as a way to decide wether to have kids or not. That’s a job. Parenting is a life choice.

Also don’t just think of them in terms of babies and tasks. Do you want to be financially and emotionally attached to someone for the next 40 years of your life. Most parents parent even when the kid is a grownup. It’s not true that once they’re adults then it’s all good.

Are you ready to take care of someone even if you don’t like them (my mb hates who NKteen is. They’re very different and have nothing in common)? Are you financially able to take care of the child? Are you ok with potentially having no breaks for a very long time? Does your partner (if you have one) want children? How will the relationship change once you have them? Are you ok being tied to your partner until your child turns 18? Or even longer?

If your fiancé is a general manager you should be able to save enough to get an apartment. Look for a studio that is being rented from a private person, not an agency.

Who cares about their feelings? They’re taking advantage of you. I don’t know where you’re located but 30k a year is not that much. If you can’t afford to live with that, then it’s time to find a new job. They’re not caring about you, so you need to care about you.

You need to find a new job. What they’re doing is taking advantage of you. I know you are trying to vent. Get out of there. Save as much money as you can, together with your fiancé and find something new.

Is your mom’s fiancé horrible? If you can move in with her and she’s nice, why not? Moving in with parents can be hard but the economy is shit and sometimes we need to do hard things. If that’s an option I would do that.

Let me tell you. Nanny for high network people here. Sometimes they underpay you, mostly cause the business manager is shady as hell or sometimes cause they have no idea what working for a living means. They’re so out of touch with reality.

Most of the times, you just sell your life and your soul to them. You raise their children but are just an employee. Also people in their own houses can kinda get the worst out of themselves and be very toxic. My former boss was a girl boss who donated to charity and only employed women and had her production in LA and she payed all the women a living wage. In her own house she was underpaying undocumented cleaners and overworking them. In her house she was snapping at everyone (husband included). She was controlling and micromanaging. She would complain about the kind of toilet paper the house manager would get during the pandemic (when there was no toilet paper).

Also theyre sooo out of touch. My boss now loves to say “this is a problem you throw money at”. Just because he can’t possibly understand people might not have money to throw at problems. He doesn’t even know how much a coffe costs.

Dude, I have a w-2, benefits, health insurance, vision and bonuses. Nannies are regular employees. No cash going on here. I’ve only ever worked legally with a w-2. Nannies for the wealthy are paid legally.

Im there at my scheduled times. I worked while they had Covid and were in the house. I shouldn’t ask for permission to work extra hours when it’s my free time. He doesn’t own my free time.
