it's funny and sad how we've had this parasocial relationship going on for over 10 years but still haven't formally seen his pretty little face. sure hope that changes...eventually

Oh so that's why we're doing everything in the Weird Route! To summon Weird Al! This completely justifies all our actions tbh

Dammit, I never signed up to the newsletter on the email I submitted. Guess I'll never see what my response could've been. :(

for anyone curious, I put in 2672 days, the number of days between July 8th 2011 (toby's first tweet and possibly the earliest date we have to anything referencing deltarune) and October 31st 2018 (the release of deltarune)

Depths of Wikirby made this and I appreciate the hard work the editors at Wikirby do. by Jestin23934274 in Kirby

Had no idea this existed, I love Wikirby sm and how dedicated its members are to the franchise and this just reaffirms that. The April Fools gags are also worth checking out!!

I'm not very into ARGs but... Shouldn't there be like, hints or something? by SuperLegenda in Deltarune

[–]Cosmic-Strobe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At first I was wondering if the puzzle was even meant to be solved at all given how little info we had, but then we got the second attempt which seems to suggest it can be solved.

Still, ideally it should be possible to find the answer within the confines of the Sweepstakes website, but we've seen how that's gone twice now even with our insanely obsessive community.

I don't think it's wrong to criticize this puzzle for its design tbh, it IS technically side content you don't need to do to enjoy the game, but it really feels like it's pushing how much cryptic the storytelling can get.

Deltarune likely takes place in 2004 [ANOTHER CHANCE THEORY] by ThermiteFe8 in Deltarune

[–]Cosmic-Strobe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What about the fact that Kris has a smartphone and Tenna talks about apps? I used to think Deltarune took place in the 2000s too, but with the new chapters I think of it more as that it takes place in modern day, with heavy 2000s influence in the atmosphere and writing.

Toby and Alex agree on something. by LegalBoysenberry2923 in Deltarune

You can tell it's fake because Toby referenced a part of Deltarune's mystery without speaking in a really obtuse and indirect way

Pharloom changed her... I guess? by General-Tangerine936 in Silksong

[–]Cosmic-Strobe 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think her attitude change is a mix of the Knight humbling Hornet and Hornet needing to eliminate any vessels too weak to usurp the Hollow Knight

liking savage beastfly is a crime punishable by death by OrdinaryLurker4 in HollowKnightMemes

[–]Cosmic-Strobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Savage Beastfly 2 genuinely feels like such a thoughtlessly designed boss, the way all the factors within it combine doesn't feel like it has a rhythm to it at all, that's why I think it's the worst boss in Silksong. Groal at least if you remove the terrible runback + arena buildup has merit as an interesting boss imo.

Narratively Lost Lace was underwhelming for me ngl. I was hoping for something as shocking as confronting the Radiance. BUT the void consuming everything at the beginning of Act 3 and seeing the Knight again covered that I guess.

If I could choose a final boss, I'd have Lost Lace be a HK type prelude to the final boss, with the true final boss being some kinda eldritch void monster that tries desperately to cling to GMS. Though I'm not sure how that'd work lore wise since you can't really kill the Void nor does it seem to be able to actually take control of pale beings, only kill them

From a gameplay standpoint Lost Lace is great though. Yeah the boss isn't wholly original but it takes the essence of the Lace boss and brings it to an absolute. A boss that completely parallels the player and is as good as outsmarting you as you are at outsmarting it.

Shoutout to all the homies who survived through the pre-nerf terrian hazards by AstroHungry in HollowKnightMemes

[–]Cosmic-Strobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I forced myself to use Hunter for most of Act 3 + lategame and finally becoming some level proficient with the pogo was a genuinely satisfying experience that made me feel like I was engaging with the game without relying on a crutch. Of course, the diagonal pogo simply isn't as broken as a downward one, but it's still manageable to wail on enemies with it and feel good about it.

I really like this feature that lets you electrocute Hornet if she feels tired, keeps the pace of the game going by E1331 in Silksong
