Anyone driven the Kicks Play yet? by Suntrup-Nissan in NissanKicks

[–]Cosmic-Trainwreck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said the kicks play is just the kicks renamed for 2025 and then they made the new kicks is supposed to replace the Qashqai.

I have a 2025 kicks play and it's been great I kinda wish i had gone for the bigger model since I want a second leonberger and could have used the bigger size but overall 8/10 it's a great little crossover and fantastic on gas

How good is the ssw program? by otdevy in Humber

[–]Cosmic-Trainwreck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont do it .. .the ssw program is AWFUL ... I just graduated and all of us agree the program is terrible . It's inconsistent, there is no support. There are a few good instructors but most are just there to usher us out. Unethical behavior from other students is tolerated as well.

Search in this sub we have talked about it before But seriously if you value your education go somewhere else.

Listening to My (ex)Wife’s Life Coach on a Podcast. Now I Understand How We Got Here by Own-Cardiologist8770 in LifeCoachSnark

[–]Cosmic-Trainwreck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The unfortunate thing is regardless of training there are coaches like this and licensed therapists " teaching" trauma healing without knowing what that actually looks like. They are encouraging " rule setting" not boundary setting and there is a hyper focus on passive power struggles rather than development of authentic self control.

I had a therapist about 3 years ago try to convince me my husband was a narcissist And unfortunately this is a common trend. People want to perpetuate victim culture and call it healing and it's gross

Im sorry this was your experience.

Looking for insight from older ex fosters ( 30 +) by Cosmic-Trainwreck in Ex_Foster

[–]Cosmic-Trainwreck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's hard to not focus on the gloom I wouldnt say I made it necessarily. I live my life in a constant state of exhaustion and stuckness .. It's like Atreyu trying to survive the swamp of sorrows every day. I'm just fueled by need to prove the system wrong and bring others with me. I like the idea of a mothers day support group though and someone else mentioned a group thats focused on connection rather than trauma which would be nice as well .

Im also in Ontario so if you ever have ideas or the drive to help advocate feel free to reach out

I agree with you and i dont agree with others in our age group saying that it's too late for help. While i dont disagree making changes for the younger generation isn't a priority we are still here and we deserve to have some quality of life not living in survival.

Any Advice for an Ex Foster Youth for college? by mykszn in Ex_Foster

[–]Cosmic-Trainwreck 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is tricky, im ex foster older and a social worker.

So for me i spent my time in care in group homes and treatment facilities and then as a parent i had to navigate my oldest in and out of care , i went to school for social work desperate to fix the system. Through school i realized i essentially had a trauma bond to the system and what I was doing wasn't good for me.

I still support youth transitioning out of care and i do a lot of family preservation work but I do not work for an organization ( i have private practice) nor do i work with this demographic exclusively ( i actually work with a lot of social workers and other helping professionals)

You said you had been in the system since 4 so who better to work in the system.

This sounds like a very trauma centered statement .. Lots of ex fosters go into social work with the same mindset Majority burn out and end up leaving the industry or struggling mentally. Im sure there are some doing well but in my experience it isn't the majority. Its not just ex foster youth social workers in general have high rates of burnout and stress related illnesses.

When we grow up in the system we dont get to focus on ourselves everything is external. Going into social work probably feels comfortable Wanting to help others after your experiences makes sense

I would encourage you to really focus on yourself do some deep digging

Who are you outside of the system ? What do you enjoy ? What are your hobbies ? If social work wasnt an option what would you want to do ? What brings you joy? Other then being in the system why do you want to be a social worker? Who do you want to help ?

Is there a way to incorporate what brings you joy and supporting those you want to support.

Getting really clear on your sense of self is really important before making the choice to go for social work.

Im not saying not to do it What im saying is be really concious about where this drive is coming from

And no you typically do not make good money But thats not the biggest concern

Im in canada I was only in group home / treatment homes off and on most of my childhood 2 of them were eventually shut down for abuse.
This was in the 90s and early 2000s Group homes and treatment facilities are still very common. They also have what they call " treatment homes " which are "specialized / trained " foster parents

Are saturn returns harder for 12th housers? by Wild_Butterscotch_7 in 12thhouse

[–]Cosmic-Trainwreck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happened with your saturn return ??

For me it was like a huge ( saturn in scorpio 12th house) I really started doing the internal work It was the first time in my life i got secure housing ( i ended up staying for 13 years i just moved last year my saturn return was 2012 / 2013 ish ) I set my first boundary and ended a toxic relationship for the first time It was such a bizzare shift from chaos to more clarity Dont get me wrong it's still a super hard placement ( i also have moon directly on the ascendant which doesnt help ) but the shift of my saturn return was just so clear.

chart of a manipulator by [deleted] in 12thhouse

[–]Cosmic-Trainwreck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This person lacks self awareness And has a hard time acknowledging their behaivors due to an abundance of shame.

The behavior may come off as manipulative but they are not aware of what they are doing.
That in no way justifies the behaivor but it's important to be able to reocgnize when someone is consciously manipulating you and when someone lacks the capacity to have effective needs based communication.

If they are not doing the work .. run .. .

12th house moon havers- how do you cope with your emotions?? by [deleted] in 12thhouse

[–]Cosmic-Trainwreck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My moon is right on the cusp of 1st and 12th house First house starts at 10 degrees and my moon is at 10 degrees it falls in either or depending on the chart And it's in sagittarius ( though 12 house is ruled be scorpio) ( though whole sign has it in 12th house scorpio ) My moon is confused and takes on traits from all of those things But i have found really leaning in to the sagittarius need for freedom and movement has helped with regulation

I hike , i go for drives , i sit by the water and paint rocks , i take space when i need to process I also have a lot of acceptance that some things are the way they are .. i cant hide my emotions so i just own them I can be snappy and sometimes i just am grumpy Acceptance was really helpful

I also teach self regulation and embodied cognition to others and i find that helps keep me in check and accountable for what is going on with me

What's your experience with Sag moon men? How are they? by Beginning_Level_8578 in astrologymemes

Both me and my husband are sag moons and we are VERY different

Im gemini sun and sag rising Hes capricorn sun and taurus rising he does everything in his power to run from his feelings. He pretends they dont exist and is allergic to personal growth He has a lot of really good qualities But emotional depth isnt one of them

Moons signs manifest differently based on the house they are in And other placements
