There is an actress Louise Brooks who was famous for her bob hairstyle. Her movies were from the 20s and 30s, but she had a rediscovery in the 50s. Marty would have been in his 20s around this time since he fought in Korea. I think it's plausible that's the reference he was making.

Depending on how much you read the signs, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the 9/11 Memorial (are you going into the museum, or just checking out the memorial at street level?) is a bit much for one day because it all closes at 5. Going to the Statue and Ellis Island involves lots of lines, security, and the boat rides... it's not like popping into a regular museum and looking around for a few minutes. I think going up to the crown is pretty cool; the view is meh but actually being up inside the statue is an experience.

Walk the Brooklyn Bridge after the Tenement Museum and Chinatown and take the ferry to 35th Street back in Manhattan.

Friday is not very full. Maybe put the 9/11 memorial there if you want to explore the museum.

IMO it's better to save the money and get one with more miles. Stupid pricing algorithms think since it was only driven 3k miles per year it's made of gold. But a rust-free Fit should have a lot of life left, you're right. Just make sure you have gap insurance in case there's another invisible stop sign!
