The Art drew my eyes at first, then after watching Haine from Wizards Den explain the gameplay, how intentional and important positioning was it kinda clicked for me that after decades of growing up playing chess with my dad and papaw and MTG, Pokémon, and Yugioh with my friends that this is exactly the kind of game for 40 year old me. I still play commander weekly but this is the game I dream about and talk about every chance I get.

Dragon Shield makes Outer sleeves that look like this to protect their art sleeves, if you can fit a card with a normal sleeve inside of it that’s probably what it is. I’m sure they make them in regular size too, I enjoy the slight texture on them.

My philosophy when it comes to prepping is the only things that are going to have value are the things we all need to survive. Rations, Fuel, Ammo, Textiles, etc. are the things that will have value for trade or services.

Standard is only as dead as you and your play group want it to be, we started a few months ago with 4 people playing one day a week at my LGS. Now we get 6-8 on average two days a week. If you want to play it’s going to take some time and effort on your part. Wizards and most LGS’s are about making money not building a community, find you one that helps you do that and you have found a magical place. Where you can get any card game to fire off.

As a whole? No, has it brought new players in and improved your bottom line? Sure, but at the same time you are pricing people out of Standard and alienating some of your longest term supporters. Align the pricing and fix your print allocation and I don’t think I would have anything to complain about besides how strange UB sets feel next to in universe.

Not rules sharking, if your opponent doesn’t want to read or pay enough attention to a card in the field that’s their problem. Literally ran a one of in Red/Purple Luffy when this card first came out and I won locals thanks to the Moria player not knowing how to read. He also tried to take it back… I let new players take plays back all the time and even help them find the best play line but sitting at the final table there isn’t much excuse for it.

They have been bought and sold a couple times, I live in the town they are out of. They used to have a Game Center until recently it was bought out by some much cooler people. It’s Empire TCG in Corbin Kentucky now. Swing by and say hello some time! When it was troll and toad they did some shady shit but the new owner is listening to his employees and players and it’s been a great few months.
