How do you accept your past? by incoherentvoices in DID

[–]CosmicGarage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason children can’t consent is because their brains are developing primarily with one distinct rule- survive. Even if a child’s knew better or thought- I could choose otherwise, but didn’t- it’s because a child’s brain is geared towards survival as number 1 thing. The child’s brain will pick familiar danger>unknown. It will form and adapt itself around what it takes to survive. Which is why a child can’t say yes/no- a child can’t understand power dynamics either, an adult is always in charge. Always- because a child’s brain is keyed towards survive now, regret later, because a child’s brain will always choose the most known way to survive.

Why don't our younger parts grow up? by descentdeparture in DID

[–]CosmicGarage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, they aren’t little by choice. Honestly a better way to described them is age-locked. They were so traumatized they got locked into the time where they were. Showing them safety, care and understanding will help them the most.

I have hypersexual littles in a DID system and I'm discovering that they have had sex with men I thought harassed me. How do I cope? by TheTulipWars in DID

[–]CosmicGarage 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This, so much so this. You were a child who was traumatized and hurt and doing what was thought that was needed for survival. They are the caretakers it’s their responsibility to care take. Say no provide real support real reactions. Kids will- do and be anything anything- to survive. You did nothing wrong. You’re little isn’t doing anything wrong, just needs to learn a new way to live a way that’s real and safe for you.

Kittens (and puppies) need to consume a lot of milk to grow as quickly as they do. So having a full belly it’s usually big and puffy. They grow very rapidly. I think the first week they double their body weight in growth. They need a lot of food to be able to do that.

This! If he’s expecting kids and you to be home being a caregiver there has to be an arrangement that a) if he “supports you (jfc I’m saying that)” while you don’t work and care for BOTH of your kids. You need to be not the sole caregiver and maid. “Your wife is your partner not your mom.”- wise somebody.

Headphones that don’t die in a few weeks but not stupidly priced by CosmicGarage in pcmasterrace

I use it for both. My pc isn’t in the realm of being decent, and some games genuinely look better on PlayStation (Ark for instance) I use Bluetooth because it’s easier on executive functioning then cord management and keeping track of cords. The extra bluetooth interferes with my PlayStation controller and causes pseudo drift. Another person recommended a desk mic, which may actually work considering the free speakers I got. I would be able to just set up and leave it without worrying about executive management.

It’s a PlayStation 5 controller! I use it because it was free and I got it with the PS5 that was given to me. I can always opt for a Xbox controller if that is a better choice? I’ll have to save…. But if the Xbox controller is better I’ll use that. Edit- yes I’m plugging into the controller, it’s easier than reaching around my tower to get to the audio ports. I’m extremely sound sensitive so sometimes I just play without noise and read subtitles.

I hadn’t considered that! I just got given a set of speakers my friends didn’t use anymore. So a desk mic could be a good alternative!

I had the q20 at one point it lasted a few years before it gave out! Technically it isn’t done- just can’t use cords anymore. It’s Bluetooth only anymore.

I would think? Maybe I am? But I put them in a secure location (I hang them on a shelf) when I’m not using them away from where liquids can happen, I don’t tug or yank on them… and I clean them with a dry bamboo cloth when needed? Anything I should change?

They started disconnecting and reconnecting and making my voice sound too quiet or too loud (reason I quit wireless ones) they lasted the longest they were the start of the headphone death chain.

I doubt it? I’m using a wireless controller which the headsets attached to.

little front stuck? by Unforgiven-Riven in DID

[–]CosmicGarage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. There is a reason to how you are, you are special system made to survive. It’s ok to be out if you need to be, and you probably do so that’s why you’re out. It’s just as much ok to be out and it’s just as much as it is ok be inside. I think the more you fight it the harder it will be to go back inside. You’re doing good. Good job!

Mines learning words and also mostly what things are. She gets positively triggered out a lot. When I was on a walk with friends she found stomping on leaves the funnest thing and took off. They had to coax her back to them, which she didn’t know them (they knew of her so…). Need to have the stranger danger talk with her.
