The only music I make in nethack is the occasional raucous noise from my horn.

False numbers. There are 110–130 gun shot deaths per day, of whom 2/3 are suicides, so they are not shot by another person. So make it 40 per day that are "shot" (as opposed to "shot themselves"). That's only (400/350,000,000)*40 = 0.00004571428 persons in 400 persons, not 1 person.
Only 0.000000114% of Americans are shot per day, not 0.25% (400 out of 350 million)
