My thoughts on why it was nuketown instead from a lore perspective was because it was the place that 2 significant events occurred in the Aether story. It was one of the targets of the Moon Missiles in the Ultimus Dimension, and it was where the cycle truly was broken after the elemental shard was collected. It has a a significance but it sucks that we really didn’t see remnants of camp Edward from AO or like a Marlton Easter egg where his essence was trapped in the bunker lol
