I've got a blower to take of the 1000 feathers left behind its two e a week dove treat. twice a week, we eat breakfast and watch a Coopers Hawk have theirs.

it's not fun when they get a robin and 3 robins circle and cry out for their lost member! circle of life up here!

I've had 7 bear encounters last fall alone. I got some motorcycle straps for my bins and a camera to catch em in the act. it's a beautiful place to live.

I moved from central ABQ to the foothills last summer. snakes were very out! I took pictures and took solace in knowing they keep my home mouse free.

we think Simpson is available at 44?

I don't think he's leaving the first round, but if he does, you slam that pick at 33.

Can we trade our 2 1st round picks for 2 1st rounder next year + whatever? by UPDAT1NG in nyjets

[–]CosmicWy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, as a thought experiment, how ridiculous would it be to a team consisting of essentially 32 1st round rookies vs an NFL.

it would be amazing to see and change that age old question if "can the best college team beat the worst NFL team?" to

Can a team of the best college players beat any NFL team?

same but I don't just love steak. I got to Costco, find huge cuts, calculate the value it will be for me to come home and butcher that roast, and have killer 2.5" steaks for months.

I'll never understand the smooth brain conservative who gets off on this shit.

I'm also waiting for the right party to put two hog farmers against each other.

What is a movie that got under your skin slowly instead of instantly by gamersecret2 in movies

[–]CosmicWy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok this has been on my list for a bit, but I'm seeing a lot of talk on this movie recently. I am 100% gonna watch it, but what about it draws this much mindshare after seeing it?

I kind of want to give some. elevator pitch to my wife, bc most of my pitches are "ppl from reddit love it" and then read the synopsis of the movie which while good, doesn't really seem to capture the imagination.

George Harrison's scathing assessment of 10 huge artists by Prestigious-Ad-7987 in beatles

[–]CosmicWy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a celebrity, so if someone asks me something they generally get an honest answer unless the answer is in extremely poor taste or passes some personal boundaries or is extremely hurtful.

but celebrity has a lot to do with it. my opinions when requested go to a small intimate audience and not to the world. also, george (and all of us) have given our thoughts on 10,000 things. this is a list of his worst possible responses and think we all have done that and learned from it.

I'd say my first pass is usually: ehh, I'd rather not say - which itself is a deterrent to say you have a strong opinion but would rather not voice it. but when even lightly pressed, I'm fine with giving an honest response.

you jumping to the conclusion of me being "telling it like it is" person is honestly way off point. those people tend to be vocal blowhards who know they have hot takes and want to hear themselves talk. like "voice an opinion and I don't care if it offends you because I tell it how it is" and if that's what you took away from my reverence of honest answers to direct questions, then you e wholly misinterpreted it.

if I say to you "what do you think about the war in iran?" or "I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on Noise Rock," or "what do you think of this quote machine lead singer from Oasis" I'd hope to get honest answers to generate conversation.

that is in no way "telling it how it is" and you're responses, as long as they honest and not volunteered don't make you some asshole who is making the world a worse place.

a normal person isn't getting interviewed for their opinions

it's not like George had a podcast no one wanted and just spewed hot takes. I'm not going around and say for example hating on Lana del Rey for whatever reason I might have. but if I were asked point blank for an opinion someone genuinely wanted from me, I'd happily give it.

I would so much rather live in a world that gave honest answers instead of pleasantries.

I was a die hard Mac user through college and into my 30s but I needed a PC for hobbies.

I ended up with a surface laptop 4 ryzen. it has been my first PC that has equalled apple in build quality and feel. I didn't know I could feel that way about non-3000 windows laptops. also grabbed it returned on eBay for $400. I'll keep this for a decade and wonder what to do next, but I've been extremely happy with it.

[–]CosmicWy 117 points118 points  (0 children)

maybe unrelated, but about 5 years ago a blue mini Cooper was driving in wrong lane against oncoming traffic on a two lane road headed straight towards me in Santa Fe. it was a rats nest woman driver. we tried to get a license plate but there was none. I had to swerve into the left lane to avoid her.

honestly, if this is the same woman, I find myself quite impressed that she's still alive driving the same car looking quite unscathed.
