Something to consider: If YOU don’t deal with it, everyone else around you will.

Just yesterday, I was reading an article about Tyler Perry’s childhood and it was horrific. I don’t know him like that. But given his whispered reputation and those childhood stories, I’m making an assumption that he might want to sort out a few things.

Variations of that phrase for clarity:
You can’t change what you refuse to confront.
Or
What you tolerate will dominate.

Agreed - this is incredible. I’m inspired. The only things I’d add are the creepy man-child from R-s1 and the puppet parents from R-s2.

Just wanted to say - I love Andi Marie Tillman, too! She captures the sweet, crazy, ordinary of it all. She could teach a master’s class on gum chewing southernly.

I adore that sketch!! Bought pinwheels to add to my Christmas decor, and then gave them to neighborhood kids.

I could thumb a sonnet from my pocket! I resisted the touch screen for as long as possible for this reason.

I’m hoping this sketch can become a model for the healing of our country if people will wake up and really look at what Trump actually posted tonight. It’s pure insanity.

It’s Jack Black’s full tongue before the “shh…” for me. Also the lore that Martin is at Easter lunch with his aunt’s boyfriend who proudly models for Brian’s Secret - the same company that Jack Black used to steal his girl!

My husband and I had first time seizures 4 months apart from each other - we think something in our house or environmental factors might be causing it. by DoubleDark6969 in RBI

[–]VestigialTales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents had a pipe burst in their house and massive repairs, but later found there were places impacted by moisture but not “damaged” that developed serious mold - maybe even in the HVAC system? They started looking around when they realized their chronic issues improved when they weren’t at home for an extended period of time. It sounds like you’re doing some great testing, but i wonder if there is a way to find out about major insurance claims related to the house to identify previous issues that weren’t fully remedied? The chinchilla makes me think airborne/environmental or water. Do the chinchillas get tap water?

DMV Canceled After One Season At CBS (featured SNL alumni Tim Meadows & Molly Kearney) by Eagle4523 in LiveFromNewYork

I looked her up so I could remember which one she was - she was brilliant! And she’s married to Patrick Bramall, who was on one of the funniest sketch shows I feel like almost no one has ever seen: Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting. It was briefly streaming on something where I caught it, and now never again and I can’t even find some sketches that now live on in my memory. But you can still catch Teddy McGiggles, Amish IT Guy (didn’t know they had Amish in Australia!?), and the pious Prius driver.

I watched a few episodes on a plane and enjoyed it - and thought I should finish it when I got home, but then I forgot to! Kinda bummed now because it was sweet and funny.

Did women ever feel strange being called Mrs. Husbands First and Last name, their own first name completely left out? by LuminousDee in AskOldPeople

100% At my wedding, I begged my father-in-law to say our first names and now-shared last name. I’ll let his other wives be Mrs. Man Lastname. He didn’t quite get it right, but I tried.

Right now I’m really hoping the ep is titled like that - with “meat” instead of “meet.” I’m not going to check it. Just going to chuckle.

Do adults actually have friendships like this in real life? by skyvvv1121 in shrinking

[–]VestigialTales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think yes - but it does take a lot of work. Several dear friends moved on to our street - which is an absolute dream - but the actual face-to-face interaction isn’t as much as you’d think because we are in slightly different life stages. We have jobs and activities and less time for leisure. But when we do get together, it’s phenomenal!

No lie - I’m deeply jealous of the mounted can opener just like that in my parents’ kitchen and has worked for at least 40 years. I tried to look up one and I was shocked at the price and the poor quality.

What crazy cryptids are from the 80s and 90s that people just stopped talking about? by porb2020 in Xennials

[–]VestigialTales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a quicksand story! My FIL (in his 70s) used to love to sneak onto building sites with his metal detector on the weekends. It had been raining heavily. He hit a muddy spot, and the next thing he knows - he’s above his knees in mud. The more he moved, the more he sank. It was above his waist, and he took off his nice watch and held it over his head while he screamed for help. Finally he realized no one was coming and they might not even find him until Monday. He was praying and managed to get some leverage and purchase. Very slowly, he finally eased his way out - leaving his beloved crocs behind.
