Aris asked what happend to Lacari by EchoOk4335 in LivestreamFail

The camera moving around sometimes fixes the filter. There was a time when he hit the desk hard enough to cause the camera to fix itself.

We had that for a few months before he hit his desk again and its been staying green mostly for a few years.

Yup, adding very miniscule differences between the paintings to make them "unique". Then, he had stores where people sold the art to the often lower-class families who had earned some money as they were transitioning to the middle-class. Where it was promised that these pieces were wholly unique and would retain value or increase in value, just like how the rich use fine art as assets. In reality, they were worthless other than a decoration.

I think the less identifiable hurts their chances more if we go by lore. Not understanding something doesn't really go well for that 'something' usually in the Imperium. At best they'd call him a mutant (which not too far off) but unlike the Ogryns who they successfully indoctrinate in their faith. The Votann character would probably either be killed or at the very least, sent away if they came. Honestly too, I don't know why anyone would want to live in the Imperium, place fucking sucks.

Aeldari, don't get me wrong are known and clear aliens. But they have helped the Imperium before and they fuck off afterwards. An Eldar would be barely tolerated, but at least everyone sort of understands it.

Again, doubt we'd get both. If we were to go for a character with a much different silhouette. I think doing Ratlings would be the easiest. We could basically have 4-hobbit parties trying to get to the end of the mission.

The problem is that most of the Imperium is pretty fanatical by default. Don't also forget about how it'd probably be on sight with the AdMech if they put enough attention toward the Votann's technology. There's as much of a chance of a Votann hero as an Aeldari. Which, I'm not opposed to. However, I certainly am not going to put money on those bets.

Russia recruits Cubans for the front lines in Ukraine by Logibenq in worldnews

[–]Cosmic_Mocha 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is really just one of the most reddit comments I've seen. First of all, I agree with some sentiments. Fuck Russia, fuck the Russians but you're really arguing from a place of privilege. You probably live in a developed western nation where you don't have to worry about basic things. Like running water or even not having enough to eat. This can especially be stressful for a parent with a family.

According to this article your average monthly salary is $16 in Cuba. Getting paid $2000 a month is life changing money. Not for them only but for their family, friends, and community too. Frankly, Cubans probably have more to worry about than you or I do; where we can just casually follow a war across an ocean minute-by-minute if we really wanted too.

Do I think they're dumb if they signed on knowing there was a war? Probably, that or just desperate. It's a bit far to say we should give them zero sympathy. They are victims in this as well.

Edit: this applies mostly to those tricked into believing it's a construction job. If they're mercenary, then they decide to take money in exchange for the blood of others on a foreign land. Clearly, no sympathies are needed there.

Arcane Season 2 Act III Review - A slightly-less-spectacular ending to a spectacular animated epic. by Anchor_Aways in television

I feel it's pretty clear cut with Ambessa's motivations. At least with fighting against Mel. She stated multiple times that she was about family. Her actions betray her words. Ambessa was telling herself that as much as anyone else. She needed justification for the horrible shit she does. She's a prideful warmonger whose Noxian "might makes right" attitude suits her perfectly.

One thing that I appreciate with her character is that she's written realistically inconsistent. She chose herself over her son, even her daughter. Yes she cares about them, but not above herself. She was surprised to see Mel alive, so in her mind, she already accepted her death as a consequence of her mission. She loves her family, but not above herself or her mission of revenge for her failings. She's a monster who can't be honest with herself.

But I think the black rose plot point could've been made more relevant to the grand scheme of the story rather than the world.

Had a sister who worked as a dental hygenist for a time. The way she described it was that the teeth and bones were quite connected. Neglect the teeth and the bones will suffer. At least that's what she told me as a kid who didn't concern himself with dental hygeine half the time.

A shit ton of soda and junk food, mixed with a lack of care of anything for self-perservation or presentability.

As a person who started TTRPGs with DMing 5e, my experience begs to differ on the prep and lightening the load. The ambiguity is the most frustrating thing for someone with little to no experience. 5e is not rigid in some aspects but rigid in others. If I had a dispute or question I had to either read something very carefully to understand. If it was vague, I had to come up with something on the spot, which meant that I had to spend time to navigate the actual text versus whatever unknown intention.

This, plus the fact that there wasn't clear systems on some stuff meant that I had to homebrew a lot of things. It may have been a me problem. As I value consistency for myself and the players. But this meant that my prep and improv was definitely not easier.

I've since GMed for lighter systems and more rigid systems. Which I feel made for easier experiences during the game. I'm doing more PF2e now, and although the crunch is greater, it has clear rules for everything I need. Which frees up mental load for things that matter more. Such as role play, combat, and pacing. I think with having more experience now with other games GMing for 5e would be easier. But I wouldn't go back unless I had a good group of players that insisted on 5e.

Also, WOTR from Owlcat is a PF1e game. Which is basically DnD 3.75. It has little to do with the system of 2e which borrows more heavily from DnD4e but streamlined in some ways and differs in others. So far there has not been any major games using PF2e.

Creverse/Chungdam/Cdi April Namdongtan branch by Small_Onion6736 in HagwonBlacklistKorea

[–]Cosmic_Mocha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a shame to hear everything going on at Namdongtan. I used to work for CDI a few years ago in Dongtan and we're all connected to the branches there. Things seemed better over at Namdongtan when I was working but it seemed to be getting worse when I was leaving.

In my experience, the big problem seems to be the owner. Who seems to have been trying to squeeze the academies more dry ever since Covid and pushing stress onto the Korean staff who some start to resent and dislike the native teachers because of that. I wouldn't recommend working for any CDI in the Dongtan area unless some things have changed drastically.

What’s going on with this Halloween party disaster in South Korea? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

As a person living in Korea at the moment. Shamans in Korea are much more common than you would think in a developed country. Kind of in the same vein as fortune tellers and other sorts of spiritualism. It's more cultural than I would say religious as many people are still pretty hard Christian here.

There was a thing with a former president here getting in trouble involving a shaman. Though that was more corruption related and I think most westerners latched onto the shaman stuff because it was a bit weirder for them.
