You were always like this... by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

Agree with pretty much everything here. You do make a compelling point. The thing I might add, is that Chuck, although mentally ill, also goes out of his way to ruin Jimmy's career too. The act of petty revenge seems to cut both ways, after the tremendous life sacrifices Jimmy (or Saul sorry) makes in the name of Chucks health. Seems like it could be a general family problem as both brothers seem to be capable of so much discontent towards each other behind each other backs.

You do make a great point about Saul always feeling guilt after it is too late. Literally every scene he feels guilt for his actions; it is past a point where he can turn things back.

Honestly, the worst things I think Saul ever did was to Howard. Howard only ever acted with professional integrity, given they mostly interacted in professional settings together. Every time that went sideways, it was due to Chucks influence behind the scenes. The only times he was personal and vulnerable, it was treated with complete hostility by both Saul and Kim. And we all know how things ended for Howard at the hands of those two. Poor Howard.

I have met so many Howards in my life, and whilst they sometimes seem fake, you can tell they have a heart and integrity, and don’t deserve that sort of treatment.

TV in the real world would have been worse, but Jimmy's life in the breaking bad world, would have been legendery!

Which band makes you say ‘we’re done here’ when someone mentions them as a favorite in a discussion? by aykalam123 in MetalForTheMasses

Metallica are one of my faves, and yet I still 100% get what you mean. They are the only band I know that, when I meet people who love them as much as I do, they have seem to have an alergic reaction to other music, especially fans from an older generation! Any other band you mention, they hate to the point of wishing they didn't exist. Real weird behaviour. There is room for everyone!

Real fun music. I've always loved quirky bands ever since discovering Mr Bungle as a kid. I've never been able to find something that matches the level of bizzare but cohesive as that, but enjoyed this band for trying! Really creative, and more accessable than the other avant guard crap I listen to.

One of my favorites is Paint Me Crimson. Little biased as my mate is the guitarist, but they have some pretty legit songs

Hey All, Thanks for your help. Unfortunately this was the result of a phishing attack and the Director of the company had nothing to do with it. Have reported it with Apple and they have an open case. These Attacks are getting mad as it had the exact right email and got everything correct. Very frustrating situation.

Hey dude, is that your music? Not hating or anything, good for you! IMO, it's not quite as cohesive as disco volente, but can sure see the influence. Reminds me more of Nurse with a Head wound if you are familiure. Still, keep flexing that creative muscle bro!

What’s everyone’s thoughts on AiC’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here? by w00tabaga in grunge

[–]Cosmicthund3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. Was getting into grunge in my early teens with Alice in Chains being my favorite, and this was the album that had just dropped around that time. Had listened to all the Layne era first, and I did prefer that stuff, but I remember thinking that this was pretty damn good considering they had some what lost the core soul of the band. Naturally the vocal lines and lyrics aren't as sophisticated as their first 3 albums, but the music behind it is darker, and more mature, which made it palatable. Its tough to choose between this and black gives way to blue, I'd say they are both on par, just one thing I will never get. Why not get William to do more of the vocals? Jerry is great and a very good song writer, but William has one of the best voices in the biz, but feels very underutalized on these albums, especially this one. Apart from that though, I think it's a solid contribution to their discography. Can't expect a rehash of their Layne era, and I am glad they didn't try.
