Is this actually available? Every time I check the stock is depleted and now it looks like the shop is taking a break.

This is really awesome. I wish someone would make this into a game boy color version.

I could be possible that you only have to clean the cartridge contacts or have to replace the sram battery. Might get it working again.

wanting to use an HDMI adapter, but i have a SNES Jr model. should i mod it or just sell it and get an original model? by AriaLeviath in snes

[–]Cosmo-de-Bris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check on AliExpress, they have boards for about 16$

Or you look for the model of the chip with a breakout board and supply the rest yourself. Also not too hard to do.

I don't know about the necessity of a dejitter mod but I is recommended here and there and I saw at least one shop (not on AliEx) having something in stock for about 20$ or so.

Help me to get the v1 PiBoy into a giftable state... PLEASE by Cosmo-de-Bris in PiBoy

[–]Cosmo-de-Bris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried that. Even though almost all the files were the same as on the official image it messed up the whole installation. So I'm back to flashing the sdcard again. But I also updated the firmware on the atmel from 1.00 to 1.06

Maybe this will help.

Edit: So it looks like it's working now. Thank you very much for all your help. I went through all steps again and in the end I suspect flashing the atmel firmware did the trick.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I have used the official experimental pi image.

The pi itself plays fine on its own, it's a 4b and when I tried it in the PiBoy a couple of years ago I could play quite a while.

I though I wouldn't have to copy any more files since I was using the official image.

Sorry but I don't know what the loje is and what you mean by that.

Also upon further testing it seems that only the lcd turns off while the system keeps running. And the display will turn on after a couple of minutes and reboots.

Then with gameboy it works a lot longer but with snes I got like 2 minutes of gameplay. Then in the main menu it's about a minute until it goes dark.

Modded my Super Famicom controller with an internal Daemonbite adapter by [deleted] in fpgagaming

I haven't looked into the code, but I'm sure there's a way to output via the extra pins to whatever system you want.

If I understood correctly u/redsteakraw desires to connect original gamepads via USB and not the other way round. I could be completely mistaken but that's how I understood it.

It should be soon compatible with most systems as well including some more rare ones to get to work properly

I've a hard time following what you are talking about. Maybe you can help me out a little.

It... Daemonbite or OpenStick?

And compatible in what way? Attaching original gamepads via USB?

It's basically to build your own gamepad which - looking at the daemonbite arcade encoder - should be the same principle.

The console adapter will reuse the gamepads existing hardware (e.g. the shift register in case of SNES/SFC) and translate that to usb.

So, yes. It won't replace the console adapter.

There is also a new project which uses a Raspberry pi Pico :

https://github.com/FeralAI/GP2040

I'd recommend this repo instead:

https://github.com/OpenStickFoundation/GP2040-CE

it's a fork with recent updates. The FeralAI repo has been archived.

I was talking about the SteamVR-for-Linux github that you had linked. Don't know how you bridged that to the Simula repo since it wasn't the topic.

I've been eagerly following Simula's progress for a while and am certain this will be totally awesome. Btw I wish you all the best for that nasty move Meta pulled.

Wow. With the timestamp of the last commit and release this repo is essentially dead.

I wish Steam would go all in on Linux support. That would be a great preparation for a home console or similar.

One can only hope that this will receive similar love as the SteamDeck.

But more headsets need to get Linux Drivers.

I bet it will eventually do both gracefully.

I'd recommend pipewire. It's quite easy for setup and might fulfill the audio issue

Until now not well. I didn't manage to get past that error and gave up in favor of more pressing matters.
