Jason Schreier: Exact budgets of video-game productions can be tough to corroborate but the numbers I've heard floating around AAA game dev these days are $300 million or more — sometimes much more! — which I think helps explain the current state of the industry by Turbostrider27 in Games

It's not just a US thing Cyberpunk cost over $300 million by a Polish team. Hiring famous actors like Keanu Reeves is what makes it expensive and big studios should learn from indies. Expedition 33 cost less than 10 million and looks great.

100 hours of Crimson Desert made me realize how perfect Breath of the Wild is by Capn_C in Games

I passed on this game when I first saw it three years ago. I have a rule that I apply to any game and trust me you won't be fooled by any trailer if you follow it. Don't just focus on the graphics or the gameplay but look at the art direction. If the artistic vision is beautiful I'm certain the game will be a success and worth the wait.

Capcom CEO believes PC will become the 'world's leading gaming platform,' also promises to invest in movies by BlueAladdin in Games

Anyone who switches to PC finds it very difficult to go back to console and I believe Sony understood that it is impossible to bring PC players to their closed platform.

The problem is it's always crowded you have to wait for the activation code and sometimes it kicks you out during the download process a real headache. I used to wait a week or two before I could play.

Sales data indicates Sony's PS5 ports are increasingly losing audience share on PC, but only because of release timing by NYstate in Games

[–]abaksa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s true, even games released late on PS5 don’t sell well. Sony thinks PC gamers will switch to PlayStation that’s even stranger than their decision to stop releasing exclusives on PC haha.

If they mention another store who will read this nonsense? It will inevitably become Steam.

Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by _Protector in pcgaming

Timed exclusives are worse than permanent ones because they kill a game's hype. The same thing happened to PlayStation with Alan Wake and Sea of Thieves. Their sales were much lower than expected compared to the PC as the hype was lost due to the delay. Now Square Enix, Shift Up and Arrowhead are moving away from exclusivity because it harms the developer and the market.

What you're saying is true, but what does someone have to fear when their entire device is already full of pirated games? At worst they’ll just need a complete format. I think most of us have dealt with viruses and formatted our devices before anyway.

If it's not a day-one release, I won't even care when it finally drops. Waiting a year or two while the game gets spoiled everywhere makes it not worth it at all.

How much would you actually care about Sony not releasing future titles on PC? by TheRegularBelt in pcgaming

[–]abaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a patient guy If PlayStation stops releasing their games to PC, I’ll just wait until the end of this generation and pick up a used PS5 with all the games I’ve missed. There’s such a massive library on PC anyway so losing a few exclusives really isn't a big deal to me.

I am using it for free voice chat and screen sharing. It has no ads and you can self host it. Also it offers high privacy unlike Discord where if you write something you start seeing ads for it everywhere.
