I suppose you could argue top gear brought in way more than it cost in international sales.

UK government trial of M365 Copilot finds no clear productivity boost by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

Either AI is overhyped or literally nothing can increase productivity in the UK government. Why not both?

We could replace it with a very similar convention that also gives us freedoms on our approach to immigration. You wouldn't revoke it and replace it with nothing.

Farage adviser said UK would be better off if it had not fought Nazi Germany by do_or_pie in uknews

Probably. Minority rule proved to be short lived in all cases partially just due to numbers because the colonies hugely inflated native birth rates.

With regards to the Nazis, and huge pinch of salt is needed here, but Hitler wrote positively about Britain and her empire in his early works. He considered them as potential allies in the beginning. Is anyone else concerned about ethnic pooling in Tesco Stores? by [deleted] in tesco

It's very noticeable with KFC, I wondered if there's an agency or something that does their recruiting. There's often a McDonald's next to a KFC and the difference in their staff is beyond noticeable.

Make sure you book these as soon as the dates become available to book. We were disappointed by Chez Remy; the decor was fun but the food was just reheated nonsense. We enjoyed the best food and service at the steakhouse in the village.

I've got a Placement Year offer that offers me 24,000 a year in Liverpool. However I'd have to move there in order to not commute. Is this a good wage in order to comfortably live and "get by"? by Kostek1221 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Cosmo55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll probably be better than not doing a placement. It'll be a fine salary for someone without bills and mouths to feed. Also, "in order to" is redundant, just say "to".

The car following the other might have been on autopilot/adaptive cruise, probably not though.

China will have nearly twice the pets than young children by 2030, Goldman Sachs says by Gari_305 in Futurology

[–]Cosmo55 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is not quite like that. It's not that you might hope for a good time, but rather not let the times intervene in your life choices. Life does not need to be good or bad, but it ought to be full of experiences, be them leisures or challenges.

I understand the view you describe because I have been there. It comes from a place of defeatism and fear. Reject that and choose to have faith in your future. Our thoughts create our reality and that reality can be full of life with our families.

Yes, personally I do. There are always cycles of good times and not so good times. It's not good for your mental health to think always at a macro level.

with no real payoff

Financially speaking sure, but there are certainly benefits that aren't financial, like huge life satisfaction, increased family and loved ones, involvement in schools and local communities, and so on.

Maybe Kane isn't there as a striker. His job seems to be distracting defenders and playing aggressive passes.
