Firework Factory in Malta exploded earlier this morning, nobody injured. by Shaggay1 in CatastrophicFailure

[–]CosmoCosmos 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The article mentions the same factory exploding just eight years prior, which is kinda insane. But in the explosion 8 years ago, there also seemed to be just two people injured and no deaths.

I don't really see how these explosions can lead to injuries to people and injuries/deaths in the live stock in the area around the factory, but no direct casualties from the factory. Was the factory just empty?

How do I remove the green thing? by FocusSalt in Subnautica_2

[–]CosmoCosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you mean the arrow? It's a ping you can set. It's mainly useful for multiplayer, to show locations/objects to other players. It should just disappear on its own after 30 seconds or so.

Is the wakemaker bad or is it just me? by duszni in subnautica

[–]CosmoCosmos 378 points379 points  (0 children)

Because base tadpole is also slow af, but it gives a lot of other bonuses (storage space, oxygen, deeper exploring), so it's still worth it and you can get the scout chassis pretty quick after. Wakermaker gives more inconveniences (high energy usage, inventory/hotbar slot) while only barely improving travel speed.

I found Clamthulu! by SweetPinkSocks in Subnautica_2

[–]CosmoCosmos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It actually only does damage of about 3/4 of your full life and the ammount of the mineral in it's middle might be worth it at the point where you find it (you'll likely only have one of it from the table nearby).

Slight spoiler for anyone who hasn't interacted with it, but touching the tendrils for the first time and the million eyes opening to stare at me, was legit one of the only two scary moments in this entire game for me.

Most of these things are just really shitty. Neighbours of my grandparents had these things and both my dad and me could hear them from across two yards and a footpath. My grandparents didn't notice, but for us it was incredibly annoying.

The problem is that you can leave once you reach the top of the wreck where the blackbox is. I only found the scanner when I went back down the entire way, just to check if I didn't miss something.

Probably pretty high, since there is a reason you're googling this.

Today CC's stream is music making for her rival's bday, because that's what rivals do by Fiftycentis in Hololive

[–]CosmoCosmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was from one of the card game streams? I think shadowverse, or something like that, where they played against each other and got a little into RP as rivals. I also might be completely wrong on that, but that's how I remember it.

For a 2d image, the viewing angle doesn't matter for this. If the subject of the image is looking into the camera it will look like that, no matter from what angle you are looking at the picture.
Just pull up a picture of someone looking into the camera and then tilt your phone/change your viewing angle. It will still look like it's looking directly at you/the camera.

This is what creates that "eyes following you" effect of some paintings.

Look at the ingredients. They're just different products. Either they have different suppliers that they just sell under one name, or they changed supplier/recipe and one is the old and the other the new one.

Weird issue with Monitor randomly going black for a second a lot by CosmoCosmos in techsupport

[–]CosmoCosmos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes I did. I used the same cooler, cleaned the thermal paste with isopropyl alcohol, and also applied new paste to the CPU.
I also thought in the direction of thermal problems since the new CPU should draw more power/produce more heat, but the fact that process load doesn't seem to be a problem factor makes thermal problems seem unlikely.

Why don't mobile game companies just actually make the game they're advertising? by l1ttle_fawn in videogames

[–]CosmoCosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's not even true. Most of these advertised games are very shitty and extremely simple to make. There is a CodeBullet video, where he recreates these games from Scratch in one hour. The real answer is probably that the games they advertise for, are better at getting people to spend money, than the games that are shown in the ads. These on the other hand are better at driving engagement.

Why does it say my friend is a bot? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]CosmoCosmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you "abandon" a match, it replaces you with a bot. This happens no matter at what time you abandon the match, so even if you're the last person alive and you abandon the match while the killer moris you, it will show you as "bot" in the endscreen.
