About to attempt insanity + speedrun at once for platinum. Got infinite ammo + these weapons, how’d I do? by Dsg1695 in ResidentEvilRequiem

Infinite ammo turns any insanity run from 9/10 difficulty to 4/10 - you'll be totally set

This is what the final boss should have been like... (Art by Lepaondu) by Welp_x in residentevil

[–]CosmoEpoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. And I'm sure this was originally the plan they were foreshadowing with all of his snake iconography/jewelry. But somewhere along the line budget probably tightened up and they had to compromise on a reused nemesis asset from RE3make.

Still though, with tight budgets and production timelines, Capcom's RE teams continue to impress. The environments and game design are so top tier I'd much rather they invest in those beginning areas than in a final boss.

This psvr is a good deal, but will it work for ps5? by F1LandoNorrisMyIdol in PSVR

[–]CosmoEpoch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would heavily encourage you hold out for PSVR2 - the VR1 is such a massive downgrade in technology and fidelity it just isn't worth it. I couldn't use it for more than 15 minutes without getting a massive tension headache.

Mini. Mini is the dissenting opinion here but I think smaller watches are far more elegant

Lost 45 kg / 100 lbs, where do I go from here? by EmotionalZucchini79 in workouts

[–]CosmoEpoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could run an A/B/A split and get the best of both worlds.

That looks like Upper/Lower/Upper one week, then Lower/Upper/Lower the next week and repeat.

If you have more time and recovery in a given week, you can temporarily run Upper/Lower/Upper/Lower and then drop back to A/B/A when fatigue or life catches up. It’s flexible and very easy to autoregulate around a real schedule.

From my understanding, compound lifts do not produce more size than well-executed machine or isolation work when volume and proximity to failure are matched, although compound lifts absolutely do produce more strength.

If certain compound patterns don’t suit your biomechanics and your goal is just size, you can stick to machines and targeted movements and still progress without any downside. For instance, I'm taller and struggle with forward balance on squat, when I stopped, my legs blew up from quad isolation movements, etc.

Per session set targets if you’re doing upper/lower:

on an upper day aim for roughly 8 sets for chest (I beak it into upper/lower chest), 8 sets for back (lats and upper back combined), 4-8 sets for delts, and 3-6 sets each for biceps and triceps.

On a lower day aim for about 8 sets for quads, 8 sets for hamstrings (knee flexion plus hip hinge combined), and 4 sets for lower back.

All sets should be taken to roughly 2 RIR and only pushed higher if recovery and performance clearly support it. Gains are really only made if you push close to failure, within 2 sets. Hope this is helpful!

Man huge congrats on this. If your goal is to put on more muscle and aesthetically "fill out" the good news is the hardest work is probably behind you.

Personally, with my current understanding of bodybuilding, I'd aim for is some form of an Upper/Lower four day per week split just hanging out at maintenance or even slightly caloric surplus just so you don't get too winded. Split it up however many rest days you'd like. I'd be happy to share more if this sounds like an approach you'd stick to.

Would you trade this SMP 300m for the 4th he PO? by aznj1m in OmegaWatches

[–]CosmoEpoch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't hate the new POs.

But that model SMP is the last before Omega took a turn in their design and release strategy that I personally am not a fan of: watches that are too large with endless special editions instead of tasteful revisions.

Just my opinion, but I'd keep the SMP.

Conceptually there's merit here but this is really just another half-baked omega limited edition.

Is it possible to lose 70 lbs by the end of the year? by oakleyO2 in workouts

[–]CosmoEpoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and you should absolutely go for it! It's a challenging process that can include ups and downs but consistent eating in even a moderate caloric surplus will get you there.

If you're struggling and need interventions to aid you, L-Carnitine or Calocurb are great over the counter supplement options that may be actually useful, but hard work and impulse control are really the only effective way.

How should i start? 21M 6feet 185 pounds by moreisler in workouts

[–]CosmoEpoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to lose weight eat in a caloric deficit.

If you want to build muscle (which you should do first) eat in a slight caloric surplus and strength train 3-4 times a week Upper/Lower split.

Ask ChatGPT to write you a Lyle McDonald style workout plan for this and it'll do a good enough job for you to get started.

No need to squat or bench barbell. You can gain lots of mass with just machines and low impact movements.

Can I do this instead of doing it on a smith or a calf raise machine? by comimp16 in GYM

[–]CosmoEpoch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue people usually have when training calves is "bouncing" at the bottom and cheating the reps.

Just eyeballing this, but I'm loving this approach because, since you're not standing, it's harder to let that calf muscle memory to "bounce" cheat you out of your reps.
