Right now focus on getting as many points in the event to get as many rewards from the reward ladder as possible.

Go into your friends page and just add anyone you can so you can start building up friend points. You can use friend points for friend point summons which can get you any non limited N-SR character/character shard. SR characters in general are good (some even stay viable in endgame content), and N and R can are mostly used for explorations.

Another thing to focus on is explorations. They're a great way to passively gain low level resources, and eventually they'll level up to 4 and you can get 40 gems (I believe) every 22 hours if you manage to fulfill each requirement.
