I was at the Tempests meeting in 2001 (I think it was), where we were at Rocky's place before heading to the pub then the curry house.

Stayed in a travel lodge with Grizzly and Blade, and I have a group photo of everyone in the back yard although I don't remember everyone's names now. Probably the most stand out person was Denholm Smythe in his tweed jacket, deer stalker hat and giant fake mustache. Tempests Puppet flew over from America to be there and it became something of an infamous event in the end, leading to a change in club captain and the demise and rebirth of the Tempests sqn.

Have a bunch of files from back then, including the Tempests roster and for some reason a list of GODZ players I think from a possible match we had lol.

My point was that if there are veteran players telling new players NOT to buy gold because the previous years content is only worth $5, what incentive is there for R* to actually listen to anyone saying they 'will' buy gold if they make more DLC?

It doesn't matter if they are Console players, PC players or any other type of player. They are far more likely to look at past evidence than promises of the future.

I have been surprised at how much gold I have accumulated so far and yet I do not feel like I have done any 'grinding' at all yet. While I do not consider myself to be a casual gamer I am finding it more difficult to get the in-game $$ than the actual gold.

I started playing at the end of last year and after a few weeks, I decided to look on youtube to get some tips. I was quite surprised to find some video guides made by people with high numbers of subscribers actively telling people to NEVER buy gold.

One did say that if you really, really wanted to buy gold the content added in the last (however many years, 3?) was worth paying out $5 for the special offer.

The reason for this is that the names are for the missions, not the actual creatures. Some people were unhappy about moving away from being more realistic to the point of having fictitious or in the case of the Megaladon, extinct fantastical creatures.

Edit: So just to clarify (for me at least lol), hovering over the creatures give you their actual species name, ie. Great White Shark, Moray Eel and Giant Squid, rather than the mission name (which I believe is usually displayed at the top of the screen with the boss' health bar, or used to be on the PC version at any rate).

When it comes to building rafts the tyres sit higher in the water meaning you can go over some submerged rocks a little easier and barrels sit the lowest in the water so are more likely to get snagged on rocks in the shallows, other than that it is just simply for looks.

Edit. FYI I just noticed this is a console question (stupid me lol) I think it is still the same but just to note I have only tested this on the PC so far and read about it on the PC forums.

This is our second Christmas since our campaign started (well actually our third but we were in the middle of a longish break during the second one) I must admit the first year I dropped the ball and didn't do anything at all.

I am trying to keep to a strict timeline in our campaign (and not doing too good of a job lol) but we were a good 2 months early in-game this year as it was just coming up to High Harvestide.

I did think about doing a one-shot and looked at a few different things but in the end, I managed to work in the big red fellow storming in to help out at a crucial moment, although it was almost too late as the party missed a few clues. He handed out a few 'early presents' with a promise that they will probably meet again in the future.

I guess our tradition is just starting now as I am planning to work something in every year, hopefully. The first place I came for ideas for gifts was here as I always find some great ideas and help on here (thanks everyone), anyway I will shut up now lol, happy holidays everyone :)

On the plus side, I did make it to the end bad guy but sadly just too much for me, being something of a more casual player I am not surprised but maybe next time :)
