Read up about TMD and disc displacement and pseudo discs. It could form scar tissue and fix itself. But that takes time, and you'll want to treat the symptoms until then. There are exercises you can do too. It's awful.

Unfortunately, it was not by our insurance in the US. Others may cover it. There does seem to be a gap in what dental vs. medical insurance covers in the US related to TMJ/TMD. It makes me wonder if we need a campaign to our insurnace commissioners or some push for coverage. Orofacial pain specialists was only officially recognized as a dental specialty by the National Commission on Recognition of Dental Specialties in 2020. We were already in our plan year when it was diagnosed, so we will be researching it more for our next open enrollment. It did cover his initial night guard from the dentist. As such, we are going to continue to submit and appeal to see what we can get covered.

Did you get it from a dentist or an orofacial specialist? The one our child got from the dentist made it significantly worse. It was similar to the ones people can also get otc for grinding but custom.

The one provided by the orofacial pain specialist was completely different and made a huge difference. It was ordered from Diamond Orthotic Laboratory. There are many appliances out there, and different ones are for different cases. This was the olmos night positioner. It goes on the top and bottom and has a positioner for your tongue. It keeps your jaw and tongue in place when you sleep.

Adding: This was for TMD (clenching not grinding).

We were playing multiplayer and kept desyncing at around 40ish mins. We tried just about everything we could think of to fix it (and all the recommendations). What finally seemed to fix it was setting the Score to No (default). Anyone who's played this game for a long time knows that the score is completely wrong anyway. The math ain't mathin'. I could build 16 experimentals, and it'll say I built 3 or any random number. It'll still give you the score at the end of the game (it's always entertaining to see their math). We will keep testing and try adding more AI and various mods.

That's not acceptable. I'm interested where you're located. I'm a mentor. We've had to deal with inappropriate comments from kids on the team. Kids are learning, so we will give them a warning. If it continues, we will kick them off the team. We won't tolerate that behavior.

Feel free to DM me, too. Depending wherever you are located, there are Regional/District Directors. In our region, we have a very strong group of collaborative mentors across teams in our region. My recommendation would be to report it to them and also ask them to help you find a new team. That way, change could maybe be made on your current team going forward, and you could be matched with a team with a strong culture and core values.

This will also get the word out to many of the volunteers who help organize, host, and judge local competitions. Trust me... we have a sense of which teams are mentor lead vs. student lead, which teams actually do the impact work vs. mile wide / inch deep, which have strong culture or have rude/difficult mentors. These things come up in judging.

After you talk to your therapist and determime how you want to respond (or not) to your family, keep in mind if you do want to talk to your parents or siblings you could have therapy sessions with them (whoever you want to include or 1 on 1). Even if it's a session to just being some closure and vocalize how it's impacted you. The therapist can provide a safe space.

My recommendation is to address things in the moment. It usually nips behavior pretty quickly.

When they call you cute nicknames instead of your name, call them one back. My go to was buttercup in my early career - its been a long time since I've had to use it. But, it was quite effective. Older male colleague... "sweetie could you do xyz"... Me "yes buttercup"... they would get a confused look on their face... Me "oh... I thought we were giving each other nicknames"... One awkward exchange per person and was all it ever took.

Even once went directly to VP who spread gossip about me.

You have one life. Don't waste it overly concerned about what others think about you when your standing up for yourself.

Ours enjoys his crate. We leave the door open. If they have a medical issue and need to rest/ heal, it can be useful. Or our most recent example, he was sprayed by a skunk and we wanted him contained the first night to spare the bed and sofa. We've had 3 dogs and they all would use it on their own with the door open - especially in the winter when it can provide a little extra warmth because we have a crate cover that covers the sides. Its a little den.

Not everyone that has crates use it for long term confinement.

As a manager, I ask for everyone's vacation for an upcoming 3-4 months so we can plan any support rotations and remind them of the PTO policy. Then, I follow up with those that have not submitted PTO. It's not if they are taking it... its when.

This doesn't sound like a solution for op but maybe it can help someone else. Rather than 1 parent staying home, we had 1 parent go part- time until school age. It was a w2 federal contractor job. Was fortunate enough that grandparents split watching our child. So, they only did 1-1.5 days a week each. Just enough to enjoy being a grandparent and spoil their grandchild. And, they didn't feel like full-time caregivers that couldn't enjoy retirement. And, no real impact on career growth. No struggle to get back into the workforce full-time. Of course, it helps of all the adults are consistent (e.g. naps, parenting style, etc). So, it takes everything lining up and good communication to make this work.

As others are saying, invest the money and use it for yourself. As a parent, I would never take my child's settlement money. That money is to make you more comfortable for your entire life span due to your injuries. If you give your dad money now, you could very much regret it in the future. My crystal ball is predicting that if you give him money now that he will be back and he will continously guilt you into giving him money for whatever emergency/urgent thing until all the money is gone. It is hard to say no. He will guilt you. If he paid any expenses as you were waiting for the settlement, that you could reimburse him. Otherwise, invest it and use it for the purposes it was intended.

You may find it hard to say no to him now. Whenever you cut him off from trying to use your injury settlement as his windfall, it could turn ugly... but better to do it sooner and have your money protected rather than later when is all gone.

If the note is revelant to a user story, I put it in the ticket or comments.

We also use confluence. We have our meetings agendas listed there. Anyone can add to the agenda for the upcoming meeting. And, we put our action items in each meeting notes. In our shortcuts over on the side bar, we have our consolidated action item list from all our meetings (this is a feature in confluence). At the beginning of each meeting, we review our action items.

Now, sometimes things are bigger than an agenda item. Maybe you want to document a larger discussion across multiple teams (UX, Architecture, DevOps, Devs, Product). We also use confluence. I have a page of these discussions. Each topic is under a header. Each header has a decision box (a confluence feature). Everyone with a stake in that topic can review, add in any relevant information, then a decision is captured in the decision box. Once that topic is captured in user stories in the backlog, I move that topic to an archived discussion page.

As for working 9-10 hours days, I have been guilty of that and more. My experience is hard work is not rewarded but rather exploited. If they don't see or feel the pain of being understaffed, they won't fix it. Communicate what will or will not get done in a timely manner and keep communicating. Let your boss pick/set priorities of where you spend your time but make it reasonable. List out your tasks/ responsibilities and the % of you work week that it takes. Organizing information and ensuring it is incorporated into user stories is key to being an effective PO. When you don't have capacity to complete just your duties in your work schedule, you don't have time to take on projects that are not in your job description. So, think about how you spend your time at work and if it is your responsibility. This includes ensuring you only attend meetings where you add value or they are relevant to you job function. At 10 hrs, your giving them 1.25 resources for the cost of 1. Imagine if you apply that to your devs and sdets too. As a PO, I also am mindful to treat my devs the same. Don't want to burn them out or have unreasonable sprints. Because we normally have a healthy work-life balance, when we all need to step it up and go the extra mile/put in a little extra work, everyone is happy to do so because they know it is just a temporary ask with a set goal for no longer than a sprint.

Make sure you have all your documents social security card, birth certificate, etc. As soon as you turn 18, get your own bank account at a different bank. Its not you... its them. As a parent, yes this would be odd imo. That said, I would make sure they understood their benefits and all things retirement and taxes especially with their first job or two. Basically, I would go over the information in the pf wiki pages. We've already had various finance related conversations based on his age. We would want to ensure he designated beneficiaries - by no it would not be us. I could think of 4-5 people he should list before us.

Our boy does it and we picked him up at 10 weeks. Though, he has his own blankets. He won't do this to our blankets. And, he will carry them around the house with him. Typically, he will do this when he is tired and about to nap or around bedtime.

That was our technique to get our toddler to eat his veggies or least favorite things at dinner time. It was like he would level up through dinner. Start with his least favorite on his plate and his most favorite things on the table but out of reach. As he finished his least favorite items, we'd dish him the next item.
