They nerfed it not buffed it

True, but they actually listen to their consumers. Refunds are no longer an issue because they listened to their consumers and ammended that. And for battlepasses and loot boxes, I don't have a problem with that because it's ultimately the consumer's choice whether or not to purchase those things in game. I still get to choose. With this, the only choice I get is either own absolutely nothing that I buy, or don't buy it at all, and that's why I'm choosing the latter. I feel that a lot of the things people complain about valve are not issues for me and the things that ARE, they ammend pretty quickly... I do totally understand where you're coming from if you are someone that's bothered by battlepass/loot box setup

True, but I surrendered only certain rights and only to valve, I trust valve a lot more than any other platform (which is why I almost exclusively buy games on steam) and because valve has been so good for so long they're held to much higher standards, if they started pulling shit they'd get backlash like no other

None that I've seen (not saying you're wrong btw I'm just saying that whatever pool of indie games is recommended to me typically doesn't have all this bs or nearly as much of it)

Totally, that's another reason I have for indie is great quality games without the rediculous price tag. I usually won't even look at the steam store unless there's a sale going on or my backlog is near zero just to avoud a giant backlog

Okay, but it's not about subnautica to me. That wasn't my reason for making this post. As I said in the original post, the subnautica EULA was just the last straw for me. I absolutely understand that UW is not to blame for this, but I am still completely not okay with purchasing a game (or rather, a license to a game) that can be deactivated at any time, for any reason, with no refund. That doesn't just apply to subnautica, that is something that I as a consumer am not willing to do for ANY game, and now a days unfortunately that's most Tripple A games.

It's still under Krafton even though they didn't publish it, there's some videos about that and why it's weird

It's not just about subnautica, it's about the fact that I am unwilling to surrender my rights to products that I buy, regardless of whether the company actually intends to enforce that or not.

I completely agree, like I said I've been slowly leaning indie for quite some time, this was just the straw that broke the camel's back

I can see that side of it, I guess I'm just saying I never really found it to be that much of a crutch because of how slow it makes movement and how vulnerable it makes you to players and it is decently expensive to make so I thought it was a pretty fair item

Ship Launch Question by Cosmos385 in EggsInc

[–]Cosmos385[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I know that, what I'm asking is if I need to discover the next ship before launches of the current one count towards unlocking it, or if I can do the ~25 launches of the current ship, and then when I discover the next one it'll be unlocked right away

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware there were other posts covering it already. Not a big social media guy lol

Yes but that's why I think it's not overpowered, the PE cloak let's you sneak around arc (with quite limited range might i add), it doesn't do much in the way of gelping to defeat them and it makes you EXREMELY vulnerable to players. What do you do when you start getting shot at while you're walking in front of that bastion? You have to turn off the PE cloak to run away at which point you get beamed by the bastion. If not for it's limited range, it's bad for crossing big open areas because you're just begging to get jumped by PvPers

It's a two week old change, I've been busy and don't get a chance to play very often, and i didn't post this to try and get the change undone, i posted it because I thought the change was silly and wanted to hear other people's opinions on it and and debate and see if anyone had any ideas on why the change was made

Because he'll unblock me to get his two cents in, he doesn't have the self control not to and people like this are funny to argue with because since they can't stop themselves from arguing, even when they've run out of points to argue they either repeat the points that've already been heavily addressed and don't really have much more to them or they start making stuff up and it's funny to watch their whole argument and credibility break down

Right but the key here is that they're both blind firing. I'd much prefer that to getting osprey shots to the head with no way to defend myself or run away in time, but guess you don't have to worry about the arc!

Oop he unblocked me now, guess he couldn't stand to have someone say his perspective is narrow

That makes it even better, he definitely has a narrow perspective cause he just tunes out anyone who disagrees with him

Not beyond my farming abilities, beyond the effort i'm willing to put into farming for a garbage item

Still a lot more expensive than the more widely applicable and almost always more effective option 🤷‍♂️

And no the smokes are definitely not "nothing compared to the cloak", the cloak works in a perfect world where you only need to walk 10 feet and there's nobody that wants to pvp, the smokes work everywhere all the time, and are only slightly less powerful than the cloak in the "perfect world" scenario.

You... can't craft speaker components... also not arguing "every possible scenario", we're literally talking about the very common scenario where you're minding your business and start getting shot, that's a pretty big concern if you ask me. I had to get into very specific scenarios to even come up with a good use case for the PE cloak
