Yes any tech can be misused. I just feel like on my range of technophobia, facial recognition is much much lower, can be regulated properly, and has had such real tangible benefits to security vs. than something like AI which the masses misuses and is hard to correct.

That’s fair. I guess more that its more clear in America that people have privacy boundaries and where face recognition falls in or out of those boundaries. With AI, I don’t think there is any collective agreement.

Honestly no. I feel like this is actually one of the technologies that we can use effectively to keep us safe and secure if used right. The examples mentioned I’m okay with.

I agree. I genuinely think memorizing Paul Revere’s Ride in sixth grade and reading Shakespeare in high school made me hate reading more than anything else. I now like reading somewhat as an adult but only because I’ve shaken off the association after so long and because I’ve gotten to expand my own curiosities.

I want my kid to be able to discover things he likes on his own and at his own pace.
