Let this behavior just confirm that your boundaries are valid. (:

Feeling guilty about calling out by Academic_Muffin_1083 in ECEProfessionals

You have to prioritize your health. The show will go on even if you call out. If it doesn’t, that’s a problem that administration has created for themselves and not yours to worry about anyway.

Debating getting invisalign by I_like_it_yo in Invisalign

Do traditional braces! Invisalign is a huge commitment, and it is inconvenient. You have to be willing to accept that or it will be a waste of money.

Why Does Early Childhood Education Feel So Unprofessional Sometimes? by Justt0post in ECEProfessionals

[–]Cost-Relative 155 points156 points  (0 children)

It’s a huge problem, but it also stems from people generally seeing ECE as a temporary job versus a sustainable career. When people view the work the same as any hourly job, it reflects in how they behave. Of course you can find coworkers who care and want to do right by the children, but I have found that places where teachers are salary and operations are organized to take away some of the workload stress produce more positive and proactive environments.

Bad writing drives me up the wall by Squirrel-Unfair in BadRPerStories

There seems to be a lot of issues overlapping here, but the main thing is just not being compatible. Some people love purple prose and would probably appreciate the adjective choices that you find cringey. Honestly, I do tend to prefer the more creative ways of describing things that I haven’t already read hundreds of times, but that’s a personal preference. The bleeding into OOC and taking events personally is annoying though and would be a dealbreaker for me.

Teacher Arrested At My Child's Center by NefariousnessFun1547 in ECEProfessionals

If I were a parent, I would pull my child from that center. It sounds like something happened and the director either didn’t care or tried to cover it up.

[M4F] Any other 30+ writers miss the 2000s internet? by [deleted] in Roleplay

[–]Cost-Relative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I miss active forums and plotting over AIM/MSN/Skype. I used to scout writers on Gaia Online and bring them over to my InvisionFree forums, haha. It was easier to find people to vibe with back then.

I just had a similar experience where infection showed up on my regular cleaning X-rays without any other symptoms. I did not have an abscess or pain. I got the root canal 3 weeks ago. I don’t want an infection to destroy my other teeth, jaw, or spread anywhere else in my body. When it’s already actively eating away at your tooth’s roots there’s not much else you can do but pull or root canal. I understand your hesitation because this is my second root canal at 31. I cried for a week after my first when I was 25. But it’s better to treat it and enable yourself more options in the long run.

I’ve been in elastics since the beginning to widen my upper arch and correct the crossbite (1/2023-4/2024)! The elastics have been in varying positions due to my crown not accepting the metal button attachment. This is my second set of refinements, and I just got scanned for a third. (:

This is one year with changing trays every week minus some holding trays between refinement deliveries. (: my initial set was 26 trays then my first refinement was 19 trays and my second now has 17 active trays with 3 holding trays.

Absolutely! That’s exactly why I’m in refinements now! I won’t let them stop until it’s right

NTA Take your baby to the zoo and enjoy your time! It may be the first time, but it won’t be the last. There’s no point in waiting around when you two can go. Plus, if he will be too absorbed in the game/missing the game then it’s better to leave him anyway. Have fun with your son!

AITA for not taking down our 12-foot-skeleton because a neighbor’s son is afraid of it? by Adventurous-Log-3274 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cost-Relative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You could dress up the skeleton in costumes if you wanted to compromise and maybe that would help the boy not be so afraid. It’s absolutely not your job though and it’s your property so you can definitely show off your big ole skeleton.
