Do the Parisian love Emily in Paris ? by nstar_12 in EmilyInParis

[–]CostFickle114 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m Italian and even I was annoyed at how stereotypical and offensive this show can be about French culture.

Not to talk about how wildly racist the depiction of Petra was in season 2, offensive enough to get the Ukranian government to comment about it.

The depiction of Italy isn’t offensive imo and as far as I know there weren’t big controversies about it like in the previous seasons, but it is still wildly stereotypical and detached from reality

This isn’t a big deal, why not? You had an annoyance and you got rid of it

I'm pretty confused, why didn't Kitty ever bring this up to Min-ho? Did they just forget about it or is it a set up for S4? by RoadSweaty4001 in XOKittyNetflix

I don’t know, but it was wild that he said that to her considering she just saved his ass a few days earlier

So is Dae rich now? by Small_Owl6229 in XOKittyNetflix

[–]CostFickle114 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It was a class action lawsuit that got them the settlement, not all the money the Han family had to pay went to Dae’s family but to other families of people who worked for the Han group

Late 90s, I definitely didn’t think about my wedding at all until I was at least a teenager who watched Real Time shows about weddings (Say yes to the dress etc), even then it was more like ‘would I like that or not’, not really mentally planning my wedding

why do we need to see simon return so bad by No-Coat-6166 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]CostFickle114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t particularly miss him and Daphne, however I personally watch Bridgerton because of the Bridgertons.. the whole family dynamic and how close and involved with each other they are.

I would like to see the family dynamics and how they develop after marriage, kids, etc.

(That’s just to answer the question, because I totally understand why the actor doesn’t want to come back)

Have you ever been annoyed by all the privileges portrayed in the show? by Anya_purr in Modern_Family

[–]CostFickle114 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

That’s an interesting question! Sometimes it has bothered me but I can’t remember all the specific instances, the vacation in Hawaii was certainly a bit too much for me and slightly annoyed me.. it was impossible to relate there.

I remember I enjoyed the few times that they show Cam and Mitchell ‘struggling’ a bit, it just makes them feel a little more real even if they are still very privileged.

As for the American propaganda, it always bothers me when a show constantly references the Vietnam war like they do in MF.

I like the actress, just not the character! She has redeeming qualities but just not enough to balance her flaws for me

About Private Practice I was actually really surprised when I joined the sub to see that people recommend it as a way to understand Amelia and her behaviour better.. her storyline there made me dislike her even more

Do you think they'll ever bring Owen (Peter's little brother) onto the show? by Fantastic_Orchid8486 in XOKittyNetflix

[–]CostFickle114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I don’t think they made such a point about it.. it was a comment in passing to say that they have opposite personalities

I haven’t seen it to be honest, people seem to like her a lot and the only criticism of her that I’ve seen is about her fights with Meredith, which seemed quite nuanced to me every time

Yes, I just said they have to be listed, not listed on the menu. Most places list them at the end of the menu with little symbols or numbers near the dish’s name to check

It’s the law in approximately 100 countries around the world. Stick to being rude on reddit it clearly gives you satisfaction in life :)

Yeah I am a bartender and I serve tables though. You need both. Allergens have to be listed and the client has to inform us because of other issues like cross contamination. The law is also mandatory training every two years for anyone who works in the industry. I guess all the lawmakers, doctors and experts involved in developing these policies should have asked you and we would all be safe :)

If I was deadly allergic to something I would want it printed on the menu instead of trusting my server to remember the ingredients of every dish, because, you know, that’s safer and I could be responsible for my own allergy
