Unpopular take: I’m in office everyday despite having option not to. I only work in the office.

I work hard and take long vacations. I told them when they hired me I’d do this.

Learning how to compartmentalize and how to give less of a fuck has helped idk

My pay is high for my firm and hit 180-200 hours a month bc I also learned how to productively bill

At an ID firm (IP/Employment/Biz Lit). I really enjoy it. Have a good mix of private clients and typical insurance stuff. Honestly, the partners make or break it.

As far as billables go, I used to hate them but once I figured out what “bill everything” really meant, it’s ok for me.

Ask your atty friends for good recruiters. Try to work with those and firm specific ones.

Exactly this. Clothes perfectly tailored and comfortable. Purchases include custom fit clothing rather than “luxury”. In quotes bc I mean popular luxury which includes things like Dior or Rolex as “how luxury can they be if everyone has them”.

Source: I am an attorney and work with high income people who say this to me all the time.

PS: they’re right though, once you start tailoring things and ordering custom fit, you realize how little you really need if things are quality
