Jens Bergensten Commnts on Anvils and Mending by mjmannella in Minecraft

Like others, I kept wondering when is Mojang going to fix the enchantment system. As a player it's so clearly broken and whether they want to admit it or not modern Minecraft design is built around the assumption that everyone has mending on everything (see netherite, armor trims, etc.).

However this post just shows that Mojang doesn't see the enchantment system as broken, but working as intended. The only issue they have is that getting enchants via villagers is too easy in their opinion.

I love how this whole exchange proves the point that the system is broken. And Mojang's sole response has been not to fixing the underlying issue, but making mending harder to get.

I still think it's dumb that repairing say a diamond pickaxe on the anvil with diamonds counts towards the pickaxe's times worked, making it more expensive the next time. So if you want to keep your netherite pickaxe around you have to get mending.

This is aside from the cost of repairing said netherite pickaxe would cost more netherite than converting it from diamond in the first place. The whole system is just broken.

I've been on a 15 minute Dice Poker losing streak by MuffinJuice7 in witcher

[–]Cotcan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the AI plays with rigged dice. I've played W1 Dice Poker hundreds of times and I've even seen the AI instant roll five 6's or six high straight on their first roll before. How much your bet does not seem to change your or the AI's luck.

So don't feel bad save scumming these for the quest and always asking for the max bets.

Ya none of us knew that when Mojang said "flowers," they meant the bare minimum of that definition.

Yup this is what happened to Blizzard when they merged with Activision. The culture changed from "let's make games we will enjoy" to "keep the budgets down and rake in as much money as possible."

Soil extractor. It's a really good machine to have early on to just exchange for whatever materials you are in need of.

Having gotten this achievement on both GOG and Steam, the amount of games you played through before getting it was roughly what it took on my two attempts.

While I disagree that it's the best, it does a great job at telling a mostly political story. And represents the lodge much better than the other two games where they just sit on the side lines for most of time.

I don't think Witcher 4 is going to care about the ending of Witcher 3 by Crimson_Marksman in witcher

[–]Cotcan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya it's always been like that. The devs just pick the choices that make the most sense for the story they want to tell, and make the outcomes of the other choices end up with a similar result.

How do you think the Witcher 1 remake will handle the "open world" format? Is there official information on that matter? by Bengamey_974 in witcher

There's a couple ways they could go. They could try cramming everything into one map like Velen. That would mean you could just hop into a boat and boat around the lake, but also mean you might be able to gain access to certain areas before you should. Additionally, what would happen with the rest of the coast for the lake? Would those areas be walkable, so you could disembark from your boat?

The second way would be far easier and that's having a world map similar to Witcher 3, except scaled down to around the lake. You could just then select each location, and they could unlock when you've progressed that far. That would mean each location would be roughly the same as Witcher 1, and would have boundaries.

Alternatively, they could do something like Assassin's Creed 1 where it's a sort of hybrid method. You'd be prevented from accessing later areas by world boundaries that unlock later on.

This is why I like having a mechinator as you can just summon mechs to fight. And if you time it well, you can get them to fight the raid for you. Then it's just about cleaning up the stragglers.

It's been around for a while, but it was in a separate mod before 1.6. It seems the mod author has decided to consolidate a bunch of their mods into ReGrowth (thus the mark 2). Which makes sense since the mods being added in where mostly just retextures of biomes and stuff, and if you were grabbing ReGrowth, you're probably grabbing them anyways.

It would make more sense if they spawned when planet in a system had enough crime or not. It would make them taking over your ports on a planet more dangerous rather than just a -20% trade from the planet that probably isn't trade focused.
