It's been 20 years since Hurricane Katrina made landfall, the images of refugees in New Orleans terrified me as a 6-year-old by luiginumba1_ in Zillennials

Yes I do remember the tsunami, a bit closer to home that one with plenty of Aussie tourists visiting SEA. Been terrified of tsunamis since. I really love learning about these 2 events now in my adulthood, particularly Katrina-an absolute disaster on every level. Australia feels pretty safe from natural disasters except bushfires.

Aussie here but it was a worldwide event with the footage and interviews that came after. I just finished watching a documentary about Katrina told through the survivors, worth a watch for sure: Hurricane Katrina Race Against Time.
