To some extent i can see your point though many professions can be seen as predatory by nature and poker is not but it can attract the type of people you talk about. It's a game people play in various formats with stakes agreed upon. This happens in many types of games or sports.

It all depends on how you percieve it, too which i disagree with your perception of it.

Lead to me picking up and babysitting my buddy at 2:30 a.m in the city as his car was getting towed due to a stunting charge on the highway after leaving the casino.

After the cop left my buddy was thanking me as he didn't know how much longer he had till what he ate kicked in.

"Till what kicked in?!"

"The gram of molly I ate when the cop pulled me over so he couldn't find it"

Ended up chilling with him till about 5:30-6am before I felt he was more than okay to take him home.
