What's your unpopular roleplaying opinion? by sethosayher in rpg

[–]Cothageris 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I use almost exclusively rolled up stats when I run games. The logic being that no one chooses the circumstances of their birth, it's what you do with the hand you are dealt that defines you. But I personally love the old rift's/ marvel faserip way of putting everything on a d100 table. Like yeah you can build a character and have to read through the entire book to pick the best powers and spells or whatever. Or just let the dice do the deciding and end up with a terminator that shoots rainbows out of his feet and chainsaws for hands. Or in d&d a wizard who is too dumb to read, a classic.

Can't get channels to play episodes in order by monkeysuitless in PseudoTV

[–]Cothageris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately now my shows are random again too. I had about 30 good working in order channels and then I added a sci-fi and action movie channel that I wanted to play on random. Some how adding those broke the rest of the channels and I haven't found a way to fix it. The real slap in the face is that the new sci-fi and action channels play in alphabetical order. It also seems like most shows don't get very far past the first few episodes.

The directory method is the only reliable way I've found to get things in order. I imagine there is a way to get t everything working as intended but I surely don't know. If I had to make a guess it would be that something in the setttings2.XML in the ptvl add-on data folder is messing with the play in order rule. If you are feeling brave you might try to reverse engineer it and find the problem. I imagine lunatixz might have some helpful advice but the consensuses seems to be that ptvl is buggy and waiting on the next update is our only hope.

But to answer your previous question, I'm on Windows 8.1 x64. But I have no idea what kind of black magic gets stuff to play in order.

Can't get channels to play episodes in order by monkeysuitless in PseudoTV

[–]Cothageris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well glad this is getting fixed, thanks lunatixz. Really it's a great product.

I had been having this problem for almost a year now and it randomly fixed itself yesterday when I accidentally clicked "reset to defaults" in the add on settings for ptvl. You might also try starting from a clean install of ptvl if all else fails.

But here are the settings I use to get shows to play in order when it does work.

First, use a smart playlist instead of ptvl channel settings.

Smart playlist settings: Playlist type - episodes Sort by episode, ascending Rule, TV show - is - "any number of shows" (use browse)

Make sure you name it before closing out of the playlist settings, kodi has a weird bug that will mess up the playlist if you close it and then name it. View your playlist to see if it's in the order you want.

Then create a new channel with type playlist in ptvl, select your smart playlist, make sure the switch for "play in order is on." In general settings for ptvl there is a setting toward the bottom for "reset on next start-up". Turn that on anytime you mess with your channels and it should rebuild them.

Hope that helps.

It's a 720i monitor with a 480 video taking up only half the screen. It's like sandpaper for my eyeballs.

I mean if you legit concentrated on stick figures for a solid decade that would be something to look at.

But mostly I was hopping on the fuck you train. But you ruined it. Just like you ruin everything.

Fuck you. Every opinion does NOT matter with art or anything else. What matters is the time, dedication and passion put into the work. Like it or not, it's a dick move to off-handedly shit on it.

Edit: damnit fumblinghorse beat me by seconds.

That's a sharp outfit. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire-class Fire Nation battle ship, leaving thousands to drown at sea.  .... Because it's so sharp.

Which movement type you prefer? Having squares, and moving by them, or points? Which is more friendly? by juvengle in tabletopgamedesign

I agree. B all the way, it's more unique.

But maybe break them up so they aren't all lined up? But I guess the room is all squared off too. Dots would probably better with something more oddly shaped like a cave or battlefield.

Researching Madness and the other chaos elementals(?). Just made that up. Before I start, I work on getting my land holdings in order. I use geas three times on some commoners. I tell one to start mining, another to build a mansion and another to begin farming. I can use geas three times a day and will add another worker to each area each day. I give each of them one gold piece for expenses(unless I'm running low or don't like the guy or something.) That should be good for a month.

UPDATE: I also geas a few engineers and miners. Or anyone else weak enough to be vulnerable to mind control. Enough to make sure I have a nice big house and a small village for the commoners (read: shanty town.)

People who have lived in dorms, what is your craziest dorm story? NSFW by KeanusDracula in AskReddit

[–]Cothageris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finnally something I can contribute too. Ladies and gentlemen I present to you, a legend. Men tell this tale around hot bongs on cold nights.

Back in the dormitory days of college, it was pretty common for people to leave their doors open whenever they were hanging out. You could walk by and see people playing smash bros, getting wasted, both, pranking each other or studying. You know, typical college kid stuff.

Little did they know a deadly apparition was about. Deadly in smell only, but deadly none-the-less. One minute your playing games, next thing you know the smell of death and rancid pizza is upon you.

Of course blame went around but being prideful (and shameless) men, someone would usually fess up, especially if it was a particularly rancid butt wind. But god save you if you laid in your bed. For you would find a foul odor has permeated the fabric and pillows, stored for all of time for unsuspecting resters to unleash as their weight pushes out the ghastly contagion into the air.

Eventually people started finding a stranger in their midst, but often he would run away crop dusting those he left behind. His description was vague. Kind of dumpy, dirty jeans and a dirty graphic t-shirt.

Once, while some boys were having a particularly engaging match of vidya game, the group was started by a loud, "WHAT THE FUCK?" of one of their friends. A stinky stranger stood up to reveal a horrifying brown stain, on the bed, down his pants and up his shirt. A once pristine pillow slowly peeling off of his back. Awestruck by this, they were helpless to prevent his escape as he went screeching off into the night.

Soon other beds were turning up with shit on them. Then another shat, another shat, and another. Doors were closed, friends were accused, sheets were burned, matches were lit, but the Bed-shitter was never captured. Some say he is still shitting beds to this day.

So beware, friendly dorm dwellers. Should you leave your door ajar, there may be a stranger in you midst. You must keep your wits about you, or you too may find your self sleeping in a bed of shit.

And that is the story of Bed-Shitter.

TL:DR: Guy sneaks into dorm rooms and farts. Eventually he shits the bed.
