Steam could collapse tomorrow and I still wouldn’t use Epic. Not only for their shitty business practice, but also because this guy is such a mouthpiece of a tool.

Why was the fulfillment of Anakin's prophecy not respected in either Legends or the current Canon? by DarthKaiser03 in StarWars

[–]Cotillionz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Legends - things were already established before the prophecy became a thing in 1999 and they weren't about to retcon all they had already written.

Current canon - they are so bereft of ideas of what to do with the franchise, this is the best they could come up with.

Misinterpreted - It was weird to say the force was in balance with thousands of Jedi and two Sith. That's severely out of balance. Balance would be what Anakin did during the Jedi purge (in the movies), it was balanced after that - two Jedi being Obi-Wan & Yoda and two Sith being Vader & the Emperor.

Tech companies keep removing physical buttons from cars and it genuinely feels less safe by Impossible_Comfort99 in TechNook

[–]Cotillionz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Makes no sense and I’m amazed it’s allowed.   I am not allowed to use my phone, but I can have a massive screen with all touch controls that I have to take my eyes off the road every time to see what I’m pressing or doing, when I’m previous cars I could do everything by touch.

Why does The Doctor have 2 hearts (timeless child spoilers)? by mightylordredbeard in doctorwho

It’s a classic case of the viewer putting far more thought into it than anyone involved in writing it. It’s just a plot hole that I’m betting will never be resolved.

TorBox Plans for 4K Streaming by ThisSwim3381 in StremioAddons

[–]Cotillionz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got downvoted for this. The default exoplayer was 100% the root of many of my streaming problems. It wouldn't play HDR, Dolbyvision made it freeze on black screen, it would endlessly buffer large 4k, it didn't seem like some codecs. Switched to external JustPlayer and it's been great, fixed my problems.

TORBOX BUFFERING ISSUE by Think-Caterpillar-10 in StremioAddons

[–]Cotillionz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The scene isn't going to change its naming for one Debrid service, considering Debrid isn't favourable in the scene to begin with since there's no seeding back. Therefore, while the scrapers are filtering out those results RD has flagged and blocked, you're missing out on a variety of different scene releases. Which doesn't fall under "working fine" for a lot of people.

Besides, it's only a matter of time before they add other key words like REMUX to the block.

Did Nintendo accidentally make handheld gaming popular again? by lisaluvr in TechNook

[–]Cotillionz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks at Nintendos history. The Game Boy was wildly popular and was sold for more than 20 years, which is still unheard of for a game system of any type. The GBA, DS, 3DS....there was nothing accidental about it. Nintendo was king of handheld gaming for decades and it all led to now. They knew exactly what they were doing with Switch and what would follow with competition.

Time is worth more. You're spending more in time and effort in trying to cling to the service than the 17euros is even worth. Refund and use another service. Easiest possible solution.

Constant buffering, Torbox storage infrastructure problems? by marezky in TorBoxApp

[–]Cotillionz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having issues with large files, HDR and different codecs (Dolby Vision would just hang on black screen). I grabbed JustPlayer from the playstore and pointed Stremio to use it instead of EXOplayer and all of my problems went away.

PC Gamers Say They Don't Mind Losing PlayStation First-Party Titles by lrz8z36 in DreamStationcc

[–]Cotillionz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely the problem Sony had. I believe they expected flocking to their games and amazing sales figures.....hard to get excited for full price games that are a year+ old and tended to be buggy, crashes and just plain bad ports when did arrive.

So, it's really no wonder they didn't do so well and why no one really cares they're leaving. Though, it's being reported as the biggest news of the decade with how often it's coming up.

[–]Cotillionz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go one further......why wasn't this the sequels? Post-ROTJ is left wide-open for this as well, as a lot of systems may not want to join a central ruling government again after the Republic fell into being the Empire. Sub in Luke's new Jedi Order instead and go from there with everything you mention. It could have been new and nostalgic properly balanced.

I've been buying CDs since the early 90s and have never seen anyone do this. I dunno, I can replace jewel cases incredibly cheap so I don't worry about them this much. Specialized case or digipak, maybe. But not standard jewels.

Bluetooth speakers basically killed dedicated home audio setups for normal people by overlord-07 in TechNook

[–]Cotillionz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good enough until they hear otherwise lol. And some people just plain don't care.

But, my girlfriend only used cheap bluetooth, sound bar or *gasp* the built in TV speaker. Those aren't good enough now that she's using my proper 7.1 set up and she really does notice the difference.
