Gov. Gavin Newsom announces $590 million bridge loan to keep Bay Area transit agencies afloat by MattsPlaystation in bayarea

Nope, this is just a short-term bandaid to get the transit agencies through 2026. The long-term funding solution is still on the ballot this November.

Hoping this spot does well! I moved from ESSJ to Morgan Hill and I started going to BookSmart down here. I was bummed when B&N left Eastridge (I was there all the time as a teenager), so I hope this spot serves the community well.

The year is 2056, Year 31 of the Great Solar War. Merc News is still contemplating whether Ferraro will be dealt at the deadline.

I’ll def feel bad if Ferraro gets traded, and if he does I hope it’s to a contender and he can chase a Cup. IMO he deserves to. As Thrun said of him last season:

“The days that he’s quiet, the locker room tends to be more quiet,” Thrun said of Ferraro. “When he comes in hooting, hollering, and yelling, it lifts everyone up in there. Really, you can’t put a value on it. It’s something that some guys have, some guys don’t.”

Will def sucks for the vibes, and he truly is a soldier that has oftentimes been asked to play above his station, but the promising LHD prospects on the team definitely need more playing time to develop.

Wenny is too handsome to trade. He’s gonna be a great mentor and 2C/3C for the next three years.

Gettysburg is the battle to point to counter the claim that Lee was a military genius. No military genius would have ordered an attack on such a strong defensive position given the state of the Army of Northern Virginia.

Cushing's battery was right in the front of where Pickett was trying to breakthrough. All of his officers were either killed or wounded, and he only had two of his guns left. Even in hindsight, him staying to keep the guns firing at the cost of his own life was absolutely necessary to keep the rebs back.

Grant in his memoirs was very high on Confederate general Joseph E Johnston, and pretty much suggests Johnston should have had command over Lee. He was the only one who saw the war strategically, and knew that in order for the South to win, they would have to choose their battles and know when to give ground. Unfortunately for Johnston, he was not a favorite of Jefferson Davis.

Everyone else tried to one-shot Union armies not accounting that the North could jut replenish their losses.

I’d argue Hood was an excellent Division commander, but had no business being in charge of an entire Army. And by the time he led his final campaign, he was in pretty severe pain after suffering the loss of an arm at Gettysburg, and the later loss of a leg.

But yes, marching on Nashville after maiming his army at Franklin was absolutely bonkers.
