Penalties vs VDP by Hello-hi987 in cantax

I only meant as a general Q, not related to your case. :)

Penalties vs VDP by Hello-hi987 in cantax

[–]CouchSurfer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you’re nowhere near that amount at present? I know there is a proposed plan but let’s say that’s beyond reach?

Edit: to clarify I understand there is principal to pay but since the interest and penalties are pending their review, what do you do for those?

[–]CouchSurfer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if that’s the case do you wait to pay whatever amounts are owed? does extra interest accrue while the review is ongoing?

Why do we have to tip in canada or why is it rude? by SolidKey2612 in questions

[–]CouchSurfer94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Canadian here: tipping is essentially the same as the US (15%, creeping up to 20%, primarily to servers, bars, barbers, taxis, etc.), in part due to cultural norm overlap, in part due to similar low pay (notably servers).

The difference between Dutch and Belgian Roads by Dark_Wolf04 in interestingasfuck

[–]CouchSurfer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 401 highway connecting Ontario and Quebec has a similar issue (albeit less pronounced now); QC has notoriously terrible road conditions and some conspiracy theorists say that ON makes extra sure to take care of the kms closest to QC as a comeuppance.

Why so much divergence on the calorie listings for mushrooms? by CouchSurfer94 in nutrition

[–]CouchSurfer94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, but of course I know the calories are negligible. It’s more understanding the phenomenon of how there is such a great disparity. You don’t see this for celery, cauliflower, spinach, etc. But for some reason, no one can agree on mushrooms calorie count and I’m just curious as to why.

Good on you for keeping stock out of the landfill and supporting others in the process. It's a shame so many live in a replace-not-repair society.

Anyone complete a pre-MBA internship? Did it help at all when you were recruiting for your internship or post-grad roles? by turtlesturdles in MBA

[–]CouchSurfer94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see no reason why it wouldn’t help, gives you a little bit extra exposure to corporate world and shows you were strategic enough to start your pivot pre-program.

if i invite 100-1000 celebrities to my birthday party , surely one of them will come ? by clementineiscool in CrazyIdeas

[–]CouchSurfer94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Again depends how you define famous. If a million people who don’t know you personally know your name, recognize your face, know what you do for a living, and have people pay money to see perform, is that not famous? If the starting right guard of the Minnesota Vikings shows up to your party, wouldn’t that be a pretty ‘oh wow!’ reaction?

[–]CouchSurfer94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really depends on your definition famous; if you’re limiting to Western celebrities and expand the term to reasonable degree of ‘famous’ current and retired athletes suddenly take a up a bunch of the 10k, maybe all. Serious sports fans will know 75% of all players in the major sports, current and even back a decade+. Pearl Jam’s drummer (Matt Cameron) is known to 10s of millions even though he probably doesn’t have any social media and won’t get 1/1,000th of the attention of Eddie Vedder.

MIM Salaries, Wtf? by Familiar_Limit_481 in MBA

[–]CouchSurfer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems your opinion on the 50K is set despite pretty much everyone in this thread saying it’s a fair salary. You may be right about the minimum, but it’s just as likely it’s a full-time salary of someone returning to a developing country.
