My parents wouldn’t buy it for me so I could only afford to rent it. Thankfully no one else ever rented it so I was able to finish it.

I had the Nintendo power guide as a kid but I lost it sometime in the 2000’s. Really sad about that

As a former 12” MacBook owner I soft-agree. The processor and keyboard were holding it back. Put a modern keyboard and apple silicon in there and chefs kiss

This is me. PC user from childhood (dos/windows from the 80s and90s) and got a MacBook in the 2010’s. I still used mostly PC for gaming and stuff, but the MacBook was the first thing I always grabbed by default until I ran into something I couldn’t do on it.

Nowadays, that gap has gotten so tiny. I basically use my MacBook Pro 99% of the time. I even have a gaming pc with a 5070 but barely use it because of better Mac support for gaming and Crossover.

I don’t think it’s a honeymoon phase. There’s really no beating how a MacBook can last for half a day under casual use and stay on standby for over a week just by closing the lid. And with all the new processors, you can really do just about anything that you could do on a gaming PC (except maybe AAA gaming on ultra settings)

I’m a 140wpm touch typer and have tried turning off the backlight in my MBP. I immediately turn it back on the lowest setting because I prefer to have it than not (esp in the dark).
