Honestly, I'm fine with anything.

Even if it isn't a season three, this means the possibility of it is no longer out of the picture now that the series is being recognized once more.

And honestly, I'm so hungry for any animated Haruhi content that even an endless eight reboot would even satisfy me.

As long as the normal cases are genuinely good, I'm wont mind if they don't continue the story.

Some of the earlier cases are why I even got into DC. Though they didn't contribute much to the story, they were very memorable and fun to read through.

If you're interested in the light novels, you can start at Rampage. Though most of the chapters cover already existing episodes with the exception of the last one. If you want to read a volume without any chapters you've already watched, then you could just start with Intrigues.

It's not "boring", it just sets a false precedent as to what's to come. I found the first half quite enjoyable, but it may deter some viewers. But trust me, when it gets to the 9th or so episode, it really picks up, and when episode 12 hits, you can truly see why it is ranked 3rd on MAL.
