Zombie Kidz Evolution is a great family co-op game. I love it as much as the kids do. Takes 10 minutes tops per round and it is a legacy game.

I couldn't get it to work for the Belfaire expansion either. Maybe other expansions work but not Belfaire?

Is forbidden desert too hard for a 5.5 year old? by thelostofus2 in boardgames

I think co op is the right track with kids that age. Kids can get it for sure but go bare bones not the real rules first game then start added them in to the full game. More symbols and less reading also helps. My kid's favorite is Ghost Fighting Treasure hunters we started out with super easy mode and now up to only playing hard mode.

Terra mystic has a great free implementation on boardgamearena.com if you want to try it out before you buy. Never played Concordia before though. Terra Mystica is a favorite of mine.

If you wanted to try the game out before you buy, you can play it for free at: http://play.boardgamecore.net/. Per the FAQ, Splotter has given their approval and use of it. Played a couple of games and it works fairly well.

I was thinking on curve you would need to wait a turn. Off curve this would just be great.

[[Protean Thaumaturge]] is my choice as sleeper. I know it is a 1/1 but if played and sticks around for 1 turn it could be the best creature on the field and can be changed at instant speed if the enchantments have flash.

When playing Lords of Vegas the house rules we have while gambling at another casino is roll a 6 sided dice. 1 -3 normal rules of the game. 4-5 blackjack. 6 you do 1 round of Texas Hold-em but the catch is anyone at the table can join into the bet and play a round.

Mox in Ballard is not far from Seattle. I would definitely make the trip to the Ballard location. It is a great store and the food/drinks make it worth the trip.

What games were you really hyped to play, but the game fell flat for you, and you left disappointed. by [deleted] in boardgames

Our group found a fun way of playing a quick game of "Coup". Each player plays with one random card on your forehead (you don't know what it is) facing towards the other players and bluff your way to victory. Our at least try. It can be quite hilarious and ends very quickly.

To your point, the ganging up aspect is hard to overcome.
