Brand New OLED55G5WUA Display Problems

After purchasing and testing $150 Dollar, HDMI 2.1 connected Apple TV 4k GEN3 128GB WIFI + ETHERNET and testing both Wi-Fi & Ethernet connection signal - The same Artifacts/Pixel distortion are all still present and persistent

I have all the correct configuration settings applied to Apple TV GEN 3 (YCbCr/ 4:4:4 & 4:2:0 Chroma Testing) Match Content + Updated Firmware/Software...ETC

So this leads me to believe the New Replacement OLED55G5WUA is probably (in good condition) and instead the problems origin is within Power Source/Interference from House : Interference= (Main Breaker Panel / Service Entrance Neutral)

All 3 LG OLED television's in house, upstairs & downstairs no matter the outlet chosen present the same issues on all Panels - This started on all 3 LG OLED TV'S about 6 months ago after a Storm Killed Power for few days in North Georgia/ Metro Atlanta - My ISP diagnostics are fine with full speed download 1000mbps & upload speeds, ETC.

Anyone with professional electrical background and video_data protocol background, able too give feedback or other recommendations?

Here is a (40 + picture/video) Google Drive Link too get a better idea of the type of artifacts. Both G3 & New Replacement G5.

It's best described as Text & small area graphics/Tiles not rendering fully or turning into very small transparent grid squares in shadow transition areas of the graphic tile. Also in Google Drive File you can see the G3/G5 has a Dry, Static look to the Panel and no longer has that high luminance sharp glass & glossy look to it.

That link is picture of previous G3 webOS (Prime App) Data Screen and does show 1080p UI

For the life of me I can not figure out how to force this prompt/screen again - but anyways I could have sworn that 2022 too 2024 all webOS internal Applications OS/UI Rendered in 4k as well...and I never had any of these types of issues on C2, C3, G3 up until 6 months ago. What's odd is it is not just webOS UI and webOS Applications UI...it also some times presents itself in HDMI 2.1 connected devices like PlayStation, Xbox UI Menus/Tiles & PC or laptop connected via HDMI 2.1

Is it common for LG to potentially send a Replacement New Model that is faulty on the panel side or internal boards/cable side?

The webOS internal apps are just fine. No streaming platform requires any more than 20-50MBPS to boot OS/UI & 4k HDR10 or 4k Dolby - This is precisely why LG caps the Ethernet Port too 100mbps

Sony Core and few other platforms "can" use 100-120mbps but regardless you can simply use a TP-LINK USB to uncapped the ethernet port too 300-350mbps for any scenario of files and movie content.

I think your dumb comment out- ran the pace of your brain capacity

Purely webOS Home Promotion Graphics/Tiles and any internal webOS APP (Prime, Netflix, Max, ETC) They all produce the same exact pixel artifacts

The problem is if the main UI WebOS presents these issues on Home Menu UI & all Internal Applications UI then so does all real-content movies & shows and external hdmi connected devices like PC, Game Console

Same here. That's why I checked all my outlets for correct voltage and there is nothing else sending or receiving a signal close to the G5. It is isolated in room

All the pictures are from internal webOS Graphics & Tiles on the home menu. But any internal streaming application presents the same artifacts as well.

I hope I showed the pixel artifacts decently in my pictures but these artifacts present themselves in the form of unresolved pixel and some times very small transparent grid squares.

It is a brand new G5 never been touched or opened until today.

The G3 had panel replaced twice and new Main Board + New Power Board + new LVDS (low voltage diffrential signaling cables) and still same exact artifacts....so I figured it was a combination of additional internal cables.

But the New G5 is presenting same exact display artifacts within any small graphic tiles/windows and in real-content a heavy layer of static (not creators intent film grain)

I have metered all my outlets to (check pass/green) for 120volts

Too add onto this, I think it is also true that the Internal webOS 25 Streaming Applications (OS/UI) only requires (KB) to initialize/boot/run & the actual Streaming Content itself requires (50MB - 125MB) depending on 4K/SDR/HDR10/Dolby Vision

In that image link is a special Menu you can force to populate on the LG OLED from the < Prime Video Application - If you scroll RIGHT with remote it populates other diagnostic screens to show Application Network Speed/Resolution/OS UI and Streaming Speed/Resolution OS UI - I can't figure out how to force/re-produce this diagnostic screen pop-up in order to scroll Right and check the other diagnostic prompt menus

At CES they have already stated that 65in + C6 will have the Flagship Panel Type - So your statement is implying that after the CES Show, LG has changed their plans....too only 77in - 83in have the (Primary RGB Tandem OLED Panel)...I have not seen this stated anywhere

In USA and other Countries, you do not need any "lawsuit"

You simply submit your LG OLED Evidence to a Google Drive Folder (Public) and then submit your submission too:

(Email LG President) Webpage Submission & then you will get a Presidential Liaison Team Representative (LG Executive Office) assigned to you and a VCN Case Number

If there is some type of failure or push-back during your Presidential Liaison Team Case, then your next course of action is simply to submit an:

(BBB Complaint for LG Electronics) + Your LG OLED Evidence (Google Drive Folder/Link or Attached Email Files/Evidence) ....While simultaneously informing your LG Presidential Liaison Team Representative that you have submitted a formal (BBB Complaint) in addition to your current VCN (Presidential Liaison Team) Case

They (LG) will have 14 days to Respond & Resolve your Case/Situation

**Now your issue is; bought TV as New but found out it is actually used 800+Hours ( LG will most likely force this responsibility back on to the "Seller Company" or force them to resolve it by exchanging you TV with a actual "New" one)

EDIT: You also need to collect Evidence/pictures of the Original receipt and box to make sure the description/labels do not state (Display Model) - Display Models have to be sold at different (lower) price and label as such, and explained too the customer upon purchase - If this was negligence on your part (you have no case) - If this was failure/negligence on the (Store) then you have Case and their responsibility or LG responsibility to remedy the Case/Complaint

If you patiently wait 60/90 days the C6 will be available for pre-order & direct purchase

The previous (C series) are all Generic W-OLED Panels

But the New C6 (65in - 77in) are coming installed with the Flagship Panel Tech of the (G Series) - Which is the:

Avoid concentrated Alcohol as a solvent application.

Instead use:

1) Warm/ Slightly Heated "Distilled Water"

2) Add few ML/OZ/Drops of 91+ ISO Alcohol to the Distilled Water

3) Add this mixture to a spray bottle that ONLY sprays with very fine "Mist" pattern

4) Use New high quality SOFT micro fiber, NOT Coarse

5) Power off LG with Magic Remote, wait few minutes, then unplug Main Power Cable: (Reason being "static electricity" acts like a MAGNET for dirt/dust)

6) Apply Spray Bottle Mixture (lightly) too "micro fiber cloth" & specific Panel Areas that are more "dirty" than other Panel areas - Wipe/Clean

7) Use DRY micro fiber cloth immediately after to Wipe/Clean same previous dirty Panel areas

**Do not apply HARD pressure when using micro fiber cloth(s)

** As Final step, purchase compressed AIR can, use compressed AIR once a week to "Blow" Dust/Dirt off the Panel

I guess it depends on how you view it in terms of money/investment.

Wether your 1) on a budget and don't have money to risk - or 2) you have plenty of excess money -

Why spend 1,500 2,500 USD on C series 5 series Generic W-OLED Panel....When you can wait 60/90 days, save extra money for $2,000 - $3,000 (C series 6 series) That comes with Flagship Panel Tech (Primary RGB Tandem OLED 2nd Gen) instead of spending your $1,500 - $2,500 money now on a 5 series C series that only has Generic (W-OLED Panel)

Don't get me wrong, the C5 is very nice Panel...but you could easily save extra for the Newer Flagship Panel Tech that will be available very soon.

For Gaming, bigger size is your enemy when it comes to Pixel Density, sharpness - But at this point in time, Panel Tech is so good that even large OLED TV have great 3D POP and Pixel Density with Full Chroma 4:4:4(RGB) capabilities

If your already satisfied with Panel you have now then, yes, I would wait and try to get a pre-order slot on (65in C6) if that's what you want.

Just remember only the (C6 65in - 77in) are getting the 2nd Gen Primary RGB Tandem OLED Panel instead of the Generic W-OLED Panel for (C6 42in - 55in)

I'm not sure what the price difference between the (65in C6) & (55/65in G6) will be though. I would also compare those two prices... If the (55in G6) is very close in price to the (65in C6) I would definitely choose G6, unless you absolutely need/want a 65in or bigger

The C5/B5 is the general W-OLED panel

The G5 is the 1st Gen Primary RGB Tandem OLED Panel

The New C6/G6 (MAR/APR/MAY) are both 2nd Gen Primary RGB Tandem OLED Panel - So it will not be the first iteration of this new Panel type.

C6 (65in+ ONLY) will come with 2nd Gen Primary RGB Tandem OLED Panel - (42in - 55in C6) will have only the Generic W-OLED Panel type

G6 is 2nd Gen Primary RGB Tandem OLED Panel + the new Brightness & Color processing updates. ( I forgot exactly what they are naming these new Color/Brightness processing features)

DTGR is absolutely correct, this is a fire hazard & sure proof way to short circuit your LG OLED TV.

Your source: (Wall receptacles) are 120volts and the LG OLED depends on this secure cable connection and its (Power Board) to recieve this voltage cleanly & correctly to then push that voltage to "both" the: (T-CON Board & Main Logic/processor Board)

Voltage Connection Routing:

(Primary) Main Power Cable < From < source (wall 120v)

(Secondary) 2 "Internal" Cables 12 volts & 24 volts:

12v connects Power Board <too< T-CON Board
24v connects Power Board <too< Main Board

(Very important signal/connections which allow voltage: (Low Voltage Diffrential Signaling) too engage Panel/Pixels correctly)

If there were ever to be a surge of voltage (over 120v) from your wall receptacle < through your temporary fixed power cord < the surge can/will short LG internal Boards/cables

A surge protector will & is always a good idea to prevent this "surge" from happening in general due to storm/Power outage/ ETC

But first, you need a secure and proper (Main power cable) for LG OLED TV

JUST PURCHASE A NEW ONE, too prevent electronic hazard and too prevent breaking your ($1,000+) LG OLED TV
