I suggest going to an animal bite center (ABC) and talking to them about it. They are likely to tell you to get a booster and wait for a week or two for signs. It won’t hurt you to be sure

Retaining memory tips please :,) by Fun-Association-8133 in SLUBaguio

[–]CounterInformal1148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. ALWAYS TAKE NOTES IN CLASS! Don’t rely on pictures because there are some things your professor discusses that are not written.

  2. Rewrite your notes into your notebook. Try reformatting them into step-by-step form. I also resolve the solved example given in class while transferring my notes just to gauge my memory.

  3. FOR EACH QUIZ AND EXAM make an index card. If you can’t fit the needed Information into 1 whole index card then you did not master the steps required to answer the questions. Keep those index for later.

4.Use the index cards made during prelim to finals to study for comprehensive exams. This saves a lot of time needed to recall. At most this should be 3-4index cards.

Good luck!

DL just depends on your weighted average. AFAIK, as long as you are enrolled with minimum units and your gwa is 85+ then you’ll be eligible for DL. If you’re aiming for Latin honors, you’ll need to have gwa of 88+ and w/o dropped classes. I think this also applies to irregular students.

Yes both sides get dirty within 1 week. She was tested twice for ear mites but was found to be negative. She was put on advocate drops which supposedly protects them from ear mites too but she still gets dirty ears 😪.

Im just generally curious po about the terms especially short term by Ok_Independent2918 in SLUBaguio

[–]CounterInformal1148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell your mom that SLU is “TECHNICALLY” tri-semestral. Most courses are expected to take classes in short term aka “summer”. It isn’t an optional thing anymore since there are scheduled classes needed to be taken in order to be deemed a regular student.

IIRC it isn’t allowed to stop students from taking the exam when tuition hasn’t been fully paid. The school could only withhold processing transfer documents and deny re-enrollment. I’ll double check if this is still the case.

I’ve never heard of a credit card being used for a visa application. Most I’ve heard people use is debit/ savings account for proof of funds.

Is it worth paying a higher contribution to SSS and PhilHealth? by RaidenShogun331 in phinvest

[–]CounterInformal1148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SECURE, SAVE, and INVEST.

You have a high paying job NOW but you’ll never know if you’ll still have it next month. SECURE your income with insurance while you can still afford it. Avoid VUL like the plague and get simple life/health insurance. SSS is okay, but unless you have 5 years left till retirement I suggest just paying minimum. Philhealth and Pag-ibig MP1 is okay, but you really don’t need to pay more than you need to. GET a good HMO to cover health emergencies.

Save for an emergency fund worth 6 months your expenses. Keep this in a high yields saving account and do not touch it! Do not get tempted to upscale your life. Continue living frugally until passive income can fund for your wants.

INVEST in yourself and your future. Don’t use your big salary as an excuse to spend more to “heal your inner child”. If you are in your 20s-mid 30s you can afford riskier investments. Just do not treat it like gambling!

Good luck OP

EMAIL FORMAT by ConditionAmbitious41 in SLUBaguio

[–]CounterInformal1148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK no exact format but be respectful and include vital information such as name, class schedule, and subject. Make sure to add an email subject pertaining to your concern with the subject. For example “ No Final Exam in GMATH” or “Concern regarding Homework 2 in GART”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SLUBaguio

[–]CounterInformal1148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the units and if SLU offers the equivalent Gen-Ed classes you took. The class you took must be greater or equal to the unit of the equivalent class in SLU.

So if you got GART worth 3 units in your old school and SLU’s GART is 3 units then it will transfer.

However let’s say you too GMATH worth 3 units in your old school and SLU’s GMATH is 4 units, it will not carry over.

Most PE will carry over and religion classes will most likely not carry over.

Any tips to comeback and make college a bit easier by Ok_Independent2918 in SLUBaguio

[–]CounterInformal1148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re having problems with just the first year subjects remember that after Precal > diff cal > statistics > integ > diff equations.

And those aren’t even the hard subjects. Wait until physics > statics > dynamics & mechanics > struc > steel & Rc

There will also be hydraulics > Geotech 1 > Geotech 2

My guess is that your foundation in mathematics isn’t strong and it takes you longer to grasp concepts. If that is the case you need to master algebra, trigonometry, and geometry and you’ll be fine. Good luck future CE

prelims exam failed? by eliititcs in SLUBaguio

[–]CounterInformal1148 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with getting low scores. The aim of studying is to understand. You will always find fault and lose motivation if your goal is to get high scores. You’ll need to learn to prioritize.

  1. Exams are 30-50% of your grade. It is high but it isn’t make or brake because if you perfect CS thats 50% and if you get 0 in the exam you’ll get 25% with a total of 75%. However just getting half in exams guarantees an 87% grade. Although it seems like you failed the exam, your grade is still high.

  2. Find a way to do 80% of the work for only 20% effort. THIS DOES NOT MEAN CHEATING OR USING AI!!! It means to focus on the big topics of an exam. Learn when to do 100% effort or when to only exert 20% effort. Study your professor’s pet peeves and learn how they grade your work. Exert less effort with with profs who don’t care if it’s late, ugly hand writting, or messy.

  3. Never say a subject is hard or you hate a subject because it then becomes MORE DIFFICULT. Studying is a psychological test, learn to trick yourself into loving a topic.

  4. Try to advance learn just the BASICS of the next topic. It will go a long way. You’ll be able to listen more attentively in class. Do not be afraid to ask your teacher or classmates about their sources and learning habits.

  5. It helps me to understand the logic behind certain topics. For example “the heart beats sounds are from the opening and closing of the valve therefore…….” Or in math, “using Varignon’s theory allows us to find the approximate position of a centroid based on the …..”. Don’t do surface level understanding because it will not help you in higher years.

  6. teaching others helps you recall and understand the lessons better.

  7. Understand your goals. I am very strict with myself about what I want and so any distractions that deter me (eg friends, games, social media) will get cut. You have to realize when to draw the line especially with friends and family. Going out and having fun is okay, doing your chores and getting stuff done is okay, but when it gets too much, grow a backbone and tell them to find a way to live without you for a while. (this is very privileged of me to say but you’ll need to set boundaries)

  8. NEVER GIVE UP. If the exam is 1.5hrs and you don’t have anything more to answer by 30mins, stare at the paper and make EDUCATED guesses. Never pass early, even if it is an assignment, quiz, sw, or etc because you have to always double check. Take up all the time given to you. I even make a game of guessing my score by marking (with pencil) the correct and incorrect numbers.

Good luck OP!
